18th Signature Hole...Gorgeous Photo submitted by JCZents33 on 04/26/2013
As good as it gets
Outstanding conditions from tee to green. This course will challenge you. Long but forgiving. Absolutely perfect greens. I wish there was a halfway house or an additional cart girl. No turn can make for a long round without any snacks. Will absolutely be back again.
Belterra
Great course and friendly staff. Course was in very good condition, greens rolled very smooth. Would recommend to anyone
Solid Test
Provocative layout forces decisions from the tee and on approach. Lots of trouble long, but the greens were receptive.
taking a windy walk
we played Belterra on the cart paths. it was a windy but warm day. the course was in very good shape for the time of the year. it is a very nice golf course and the staff were very friendly. the only downside is that we had to walk a lot to get to our golf balls. the course is designed with lots of elevated cart paths. It was good exercise but if on the paths , be prepared for some hiking.
Verry, very good, with just a couple of quibbles...
Full disclosure, got a special on Golf Now so for the prices it falls into that 'deal of the century' category. Course was in great shape. Tee boxes too, which often seem to be a sore spot for a lot of course. Very challenging layouts, and the greens are going to certainly test your composure. Wasn't a great round score-wise for me, but it was fun anyway. Built in GPS screen and pre-hole tips. Not sure they made a difference, but nice to have anyway.
Only a few minor things I wish they were a little more up on. Brake pedal on the cart was completely non-functional - you had to find a curb to run the wheel up against, especially given the slopes. They've got built in disablers for cart path only areas, but there's no good indication on cart path only holes. No signage or indicator on the screen other than for par 3's. All trial and error, but if you screw up it takes you some time to get back out. And finally, when you return the cart the staff is a little 'aggressive'. They do wipe down your clubs and all(fishing for tips) but they also pull everything out and set it everywhere around the bag drop before you can even get to it. I was looking for my driver head cover and thought I lost it, only to turn around and see one of them with it in her hand along with some of my buddy's stuff. Didn't keep the things they pulled out together when stacking them by the drop. You could easily miss or forget something. Appreciate the effort but wish it would be a little more focused.
But on the whole, great value. Thumbs up.
Great conditions.
The rough was being airated but it was overall excellent. Beautiful course.
only drawback were tee boxes
fairways and greens good shape. tee boxes not so much. greens were rolling well but not overly fast. fairways were dampish but carts called off paths.
Worth the long drive
The course was the most challenging courses I've played in years. Greens very fast, but true. The only downside it was cart path only, so it was hard to use the gps, to gage yardage. All around would recommend the course to everyone.
A very good value
Had a 9:20 tee time but was delayed due to fog and frost so didn’t tee off until 10:30. Was the second group off and thankfully, the group in front of us were obviously novice players so after pushing them for 3-4 holes, they let us play through. After that, it was wide open and the pace was great. Course appeared to have been aerated a few weeks before but was healing nicely. Not as nice as shape when we played in the Spring and Summer but still in pretty good shape. Great price from Gollf Now / Tee Off so an excellent value.
Fantastic layout, gorgeous course, horrible tees
I tried to play this course in the spring of 2023 and was rained off the course after 13 holes. I was anxious to go back and we had a perfect day to play. The problem was the tee boxes. Absolutely some of the worst I have played on all year. I understand a resort course getting a lot of play, but for what they charge they need to find a way to maintain their tee boxes throughout the year. The greens were also freshly aerated, which we were well apprised of when making our reservation, but the combo of the tee boxes and aerated greens make it less likely that I will travel 1 hour from northern KY to play this course again.
Post scramble round
We Played Belterra following a 144 person scramble in the morning. Several groups were given an 3:30 teetime and we did a shotgun start. The course given the hot weather is in excellent condition. The tes however, have suffered and are a little rough. We got an excellent price using a hot tee time from golf now. Several of the holes are very scenic and the whole area is beautiful, despite having a State Highway run through the middle of it.
Belterra Visiit
Course was in great shape. Tee boxes are suffering a tad but the rest was great.
