Carter Plantation is located near Baton Rouge and features an 18-hole semi-private golf course opened in 2003 and designed by David Toms. The Villas at Carter Plantation, independently owned and operated from the golf club, feature 7 villas that can break out into 45 guest suites, so they are flexible for both individual and large group stays. Rooms include refrigerators and king or queen size beds. Some units have fully equipped kitchens and in-suite catering service is available.Facts

Nice Course
Well established course that winds through housing area.. Clubhouse, dining, driving range, putting green, chipping green with practice bunker. Course is well marked and cart paths in good shape. Multiple tees to accommodate age, gender, and handicap level. Fairway bunkers are good sand and cared for. Some of the greenside bunkers are 5-6 ft deep and present a good challenge. The fairways are in good shape and the rough is pretty forgiving. The greens are firm and quick and run true. There is water that comes into play on about half the holes. Nice course to play and price is reasonable. I'll be back next time I come through here.
Great environment
The course is a great course with some challenging greens for sure. I think for the price, some selective herbicides and seeding could afford to be done. Greens are in great shape. Layout is a lot of fun also. There are a few risk reward holes that were fun to play. Got paired with some great playing partners and overall had a blast.
Nice Course
Excellent course for the money, staff were friendly! Greens were in great shape but played extremely difficult and fast due to contours and false fronts.
Pace of play is God awful i’ll never come back for that reason played 4 holes in a hour 30. Get it together.
Course was over booked waited on a cart to become available for 30 minutes. Had to wait 20 at each at each tee box to tee off, was unable to finish the course.
I loved the course itself, it was in really great condition. My only complaint is that there is little to no signage to direct you towards the first tee box or practice areas. Also I let the staff know it was my first time there and they offered little to no help. Overall great course.
Carter Plantation
Very impressed with the greens...well kept, fast and true but holds shots nicely...fairways were nice, a bit too much hard pan on the edges of the fairway, some on bit overall good shape....course is a bit straight forward, does have a few interesting holes....very friendly staff, nove practice area.....I would definitely recommend
One of the nicest courses around BR if you’re not a CC member. Great fairways and layout. Greens are smooth with moderate pace.
