About Carter Plantation
Carter Plantation is located near Baton Rouge and features an 18-hole semi-private golf course opened in 2003 and designed by David Toms. The Villas at Carter Plantation, independently owned and operated from the golf club, feature 7 villas that can break out into 45 guest suites, so they are flexible for both individual and large group stays. Rooms include refrigerators and king or queen size beds. Some units have fully equipped kitchens and in-suite catering service is available.Facts

Fast greens
Fast greens but in great shape. Gotta play here more to learn them better. Overall, it is a beautiful and well maintained course.
This course is better than what you have to pay.
I live in New Orleans. And I’ve traveled a lot in my previous jobs. So I have played a lot of nice golf courses. The Carter Plantation course, by David Tom’s, Is one of the most scenic and best layout you can find in south Louisiana. And you can’t beat the price. Plus, their golf carts are amazing with GPS that tell you the distance to the front of the green, middle of the green, back of the green. You don’t get those type of golf carts at the TPC of Louisiana.

Perfect conditions
Played at 730 am so pace of play no issue, usually a problem with that on weekends later in the morning. Cannot say enough though about conditions, absolutely fantastic greens and great fairway lies. Challenging layout as always. One of the best courses in south LA.

Perfect greens!
The course is as good as you can expect for a golf course coming out of winter. The greens were perfect (and fast).

Great day
Shot lousy, but now due to the course. The course was in very good condition and the greens are fast. New carts with GPS is a nice addition, it even told us when the course changed from cart path only( big rains night before) to 90degree!

Very enjoyable course
This was a very enjoyable course and design was better than most. The bunkers and water hazards were in thr right places, concidering most courses put hazards out of play to speed play. Bunkers in many landing areas made this flat Louisiana course very memorable. I will be back.

Bad Marshalling
Parents with children joining groups making the turn made the course unplayable. We went from on time at the turn to 18 minutes behind in the span of 2 holes. Lost any looseness I had waiting.
Kids goofing off and parents not handling them in a timely manner made this round unplayable.
Kid hit into us on the green on 10 while putting
We left in the 12th fairway. Would have taken 2 hours from that point.
6 hour round not my bag on a Saturday.
Course was in ok shape for spring. Need to not have the range on such a down hill though, was playing in front of the range, would rather hit off mats than that.
We apologize for the patrons that affected your play. We do hope you'll come back again.
Greens are in incredible condition
Best greens in the area...fairways could be in better shape but overall nice layout and the course is tough but fair!

Championship layout, condition, and amenities
Was so glad to learn since my last time playing my home course ten years ago that it had only gotten better. From the greeting getting out of my car to the club cleaning post round and every step in between...professionalism was evident. The course was in immaculate condition with perhaps the smoothest Bermuda greens I’ve ever seen. They’ve flipped the nines since I’ve last been there, which I believe provided a more logical ending to a round. I wish I could get back more often to play.

Nice course
Very nice course. Great greens and some interesting holes. The last two times I've played the pace of play has been extremely slow, close to 5 hours.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. We were unable to play due to course being too wet.Tried to get on Golf now and cancel to get my money back.Could not do it
