Good shape for December!
They finally removed all the crab grass from the bunkers!! Fairways pretty good. Greens good. Some scarring from long season. Great deal on golf now.
Saw eagle blue heron hawk wild turkeys deer!!
Starter was very nice unlike the one we had when we went in August.
November golf
We have not played this course since fall of 2019. We always enjoy the design of River Marsh although the course quality fluctuates. The greens were aerated three or four weeks ago and provide a less than consistent putting service. One of my pet peeves of some resort courses are the numerous un-repaired ball marks on the greens. I must have repaired 59 myself today. The bunkers have been all but abandoned during this COVID period. The fairways were okay but it is November so understandable. Considering all the rain this area has dealt with over the past 90 days the course is in decent but not stellar condition.
Great with staff limitations
The staff has been cut due to Covid and it is still in good shape considering their staff needs! A lot of rain and not a lot of staff makes it hard to keep the course great. Some burnt greens, but still not lost. Great pace on most of them!
So good considering the situation
The course, after 2+ feet of rain in 2 months, is in such great shape! Not to mention in the midst of the pandemic the staff was cut to one person doing the course management. There are a few burn sports on greens and a few fairways with drown spots, but considering their situation they course was excellent. The greens rolled at a great pace even a day after. This course is fun because the fairways are wide, but it challenges the golfer to chose wise shots off the tee a lot with dog legs and hazards.
Great course
Too back the front nine was closed and had to just play the back nine twice. Because of the rain, cart paths only, and was very wet.
An excellent and challenging experience
The course was in very good shape given the amount of wet weather we have had recently. The greens and the bunkers were in excellent shape. Some of the fairways are still a little wet overall though it is one of the best courses in the area.
Will play again
We arrived 45 minutes early and the staff was friendly and told us to go ahead as there was very little play booked. Course condition was good except for the bunkers that were for the most part unkept. The course has recovered from the poor conditions in July-August. Fairways were soft due to heavy rain 2 days earlier but in good condition. Carts were 90 degrees.
Even though there were very few golfers, we saw the beverage cart 4 times.
Bottom line, excellent value on a Hot Deal.
Course conditions
I played this course last week. The first cut off the fairway was very high glass. And I mean 4-6" high. So it was a search and seek mission to find your ball. Very discouraged how the pace of play was disrupted. Green were not in the greatest condition. Bare spots throughout most all green. Tee boxes were in very not sure what you would call the condition. Overall, no way would I recommend this course to anyone. The ground superintendent needs to be replaced. The surroundings of the course is beautiful, the sitting is beautiful. But the course condition is down right terrible.
Have enjoyed your this course many times and recommend it to friends.
The xourse course was in terrible condition, from tee to green.
Our cart died and it took almost 30 minutes to get one out to us.
