Worth the ride
My wife and I drove over two hours so I could play this course because of the reviews i have read about it. Note: the only reason I am not giving the conditions five stars is because I played on Presidents day weekend and conditions are never perfect then. However, the staff was perfect in every way. I got there very early for my tee time and they were able to send me out in front of a large group. Eventually I ended up joining with guys from this group and it made the experience that much better. I would love to play the course in peak season and not have to pay peak price. Keep up the great work.
Nice winter golf
Friendly staff from bag attendant, golf shop to bar attendant. Driving range is nicely maintained, swing on nicely mown grass, no mats here. Decent shape for winter golf. Greens are on the slow side but receptive to approach shots. Bunkers have nice fine white sand.
Fairways are generous and the greens are large. Plays fairly easy. There are some nice views of the harbor and wildlife and few homes to spoil the view. 17th hole is an intimidating carry over the river and the 18th is lined by the bay on the left with the Hyatt Hotel framing the green.
If you're a pilot, Cambridge-Dorchester Airport KCGE is just 2 miles a way.
River Marsh Cambridge Maryland
I thought the course was in great shape for this time year December 27th 2016. The staff were extremely friendly and Dave the starter it was a great guy to talk to give her some observations about the course that came in handy. I've been waiting five years to play that course it wasn't a disappointment hole number 17 great hole.
A course for every level of golfer
Course was A bit rough looking. Might have some to do with the time of year and tough summer we had .
Avoid water hazards!
good conditions for this time of year.nice layout.17th is a gem.a must play.
Terrific
Great course. Will be back
Fun
Great layout great staff horrible course maintenance horrible pace of play
Must play
Will be back. Well wOrth the money. Greens and fairways in grn shape.
Beautiful With Bunkers Everywhere
Front nine beautiful, 10 to 15 average, 16, 17, 18 excellent. Bunkers everywhere and all perfectly raked and maintained. My ball found a lot of them especially off drives. Very generous fairways for drives under 200 from white. Staff suggested White tees regardless of level at start and that was good advice. Fairways soft on day we played so course played long with not much roll. Some invasive unmowed crab grass in middle of back nine fairways. Many tee boxes showed a lot of play and marker locations need to be moved around more often. Ladies tees well forward making play easier. Overall a beautiful course especially the front nine, but 10 to 15 fairways and average tee boxes pull it out of the top tier where I play.
Great lay out
This course is laid out very well, great sight lines, and you rarely see other holes from the hole your playing. The course was very wet the day I played but was in good shape none the less. I played by myself and played through one group so pace of play was great. Great finishing holes!
Excellent Course Layout
The course has wide fairways but trouble comes into play on your approach shots to the greens.
Awesome Layout, Great Course, Conditions Not So Much
The good: The course was awesome. Great layout. Tons of fun. Beautiful views. Challenging enough for me (12ish handicap) but still fun for my fiancee (her 5th or so time playing ever). So they do a great job of setting the very front tees in places where beginners can play from.
The bad: For a "high end" course, I expected the conditions to be better. The first fairway was probably the roughest. The mixture of heat, humidity and rain obviously did a number on this course. Working at a golf course in the past, I understand that there's only so much a grounds team can do sometimes. However, for a place that sells itself as a golf resort, it was still disappointing. It might have just been a seasonal thing in mid-August but I can only attest to the time I played it.
Great finishing holes
Weather has gotten to the course a bit which made greens a bit slow. The course is over priced but it comes with a beautiful resort.
Hot summer
Nice layout, well bunkered and challenging greens. A few fairways suffering from this summers heat and greens were pretty slow (not cut to protect from the heat) but in decent shape. Will play again in the fall to see if fairways improve.
Pace should have been better
Course was in good condition overall but the pace was slow
Very good experience
Course was challenging but fair. Greens had been aerated and a little bumpy but they should be great in a couple of weeks.
Will come back
Made a tee time through Golf Now. Must have missed the " aeration" note. When we arrived at course were advised course had been aerated and only 9 holes were open so we had to play the back twice.Nevertheless we had a good time and enjoyed the curse especially holes 17 and 18. The pro shop was kind enough to give us a free makeup round for later in the year to compensate for today's conditions.
We will come back in the summer to play again.
Great track
The staff was excellent. Allison helped us out with only three golfers and Caitla [hope that is spelled correctly] was great with the after round beers. Very windy but the course was in great condition for Jan. Asst. pro was right on time with our carts and got us right out.
Great Course with Incredible views all the way up 18th hole
This facility makes for a wonderful golf experience. It's a country club for a day type of golf. The course offers variety in its design and a very fair but challenging test of golf. There's risk reward on both nines. I haven't seen a better sunset then the view off the 18th in all of Maryland. It is always a great experience playing here. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. With the low cost offers in golf now this is a must play.
well worth 2 hour ride
Very friendly staff, course in great shape for December, will be back soon
