Winter bonus
For December the course is in great condition. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in good condition. The course is interesting with a few challenging tee shots from the backward tees. 17 is fun with a long water carry from all but the ladies tees.
Great Holiday Round
Great course! Well maintained, any player can enjoy it as long as the play the right tee's.
Unbelievable course
Course was in perfect condition when I played (last week of October). The course is absolutely beautiful. It was a fun course but a challenging course at the same time. It makes you pay for errant drives as you can easily go OB on a few holes or end up in rough which is pretty thick. If you are ever are in the area or staying at the resort you have to play here. Since I played on a weekday during the fall I was able to finish both rounds in under 3 hours. Advice for hole 8: DON'T miss right. It doesn't seem like it from the tee but you will be wet if you miss by more than a yard to the right. If anything leave it short because the bunker on the left is tough.
Great course for the cost
Played the course with my friends. played for $51 through golfnow. The par 3's are challenging because I think all of them were over 200yds.Btw, we played from the back tees. The one gripe I have is that the bunkers had too much sand. When you step into a bunker and your feet are emersed before you dig in, there's a problem. Other than the bunker the course is definitely worth playing.
A Turtle Crawl
Despite seeing several marshalls throughout the course they mostly sat there when they could have kept the golfers moving. Lots of slow play and golfers hitting multiple tee shots. I think they could have sped play up some.
Fantastic Track
This place is first class all the way. Fantastic conditions and great layout. Tee boxes were better than a lot of greens I've putted on some other courses.
Well worth the drive and money!
the course is in terrific shape.
Really enjoyed the golf experience and the food at the bar and grill.
Very nice layout
Got a very good deal on GolfNow. The conditions were perfect from tee to green. Challenging course with an amazing par 3 17th hole over water. Best sand in the bunkers that I've played all year. Tee boxes and fairways were perfect. Greens were good and rolled very nice. Well worth the price of admission!
Beautiful course
I loved this course. It's hard in that you have to know exactly where to hit because you DO NOT want to go into the traps. They are deep and hard to get out of. In fact they are hard to get yourself INTO - they are that deep. The fairways and greens are in excellent shape. I hope to play this course again with a little more knowledge.
Great round
Beautiful course loved hole 17 worth the trip play on a Monday course was empty. Food was pricey however bring your own.
A well-maintained scenic course with a wide layout
This is a well laid out course with many scenic views with wide and forgiving fairways and greens. It was too long for us from the blue tees into short from the white tees so we alternated between the blues in the whites to get the distances on each hole that matched our ability and overall had a great time. The green fees are high so that means the course was not crowded which is always great on the weekend. Highly recommend look for the deals on golf now or other places because you would not want to pay full price for this course - as nice as it is it's not worth that.
What a difference a year makes, this course has fallen off a cliff
I played this course around the same time last season and it was excellent, I was even telling others that they should take the hour and a half ride from Baltimore to play it. Today I'm here to tell you don't waste the trip. Our day started off with being told in the clubhouse that they had only one Gatorade left and that they'd strictly be serving diet Pepsi for the day. We tee off on one to only be stuck behind a two-some with three carts and fans riding along to watch them shoot in the hundreds. The fairways have divots everywhere, the tee boxes look as if they haven't been moved in week's, the greens have been completely trashed. The cart girl had absolutely nothing for us on a day in the mid 90's and humidity through the roof. I never saw a Marshall or another employee for that matter on the course all day. If you live in the general area sure play here bcuz you haven't much else to play, as for it being a top six course in the state, a place you must play...forget about it!!! River Marsh went from a FIVE to a two in less than a year.
Beautiful and challenging course
Very well maintained and challenging course located on the grounds of the Hyatt in Cambridge. Beautiful scenic views and lots of wildlife throughout the course. 17 and 18 are two of the most scenic and challenging holes you will encounter in the state.Pace of play is usually very good. Very friendly staff. Great facility for events and large groups. One of the best courses in The mid-atlantic area.
Greens are true
I love this course. It has a nice balance of difficult and gettable holes. The greens roll nicely while holding iron shots. The views on 17 and 18 are awesome. Great overall golf experience.
Hyatt
Always a pleasure to play this course. By far one of the best courses to play on the shore. Only negative is fairway bunker on 18 has a bunch of grass growing in it. All other bunkers have beautiful white sand. I live in the area and love playing this course.
Great Bargain
We got a 930 tee time for 4 players for $24/player. That's a great deal for this course. The greens had been punched but were sanded properly and rolled pretty good. The rest of the course was in good shape for early April. The staff was friendly and the food in the clubhouse was very good. Great pace of play due to the forecast calling for rain. We never waited and were done in 3 1/2 hours.
Playing off the water, will call for smart shots.
Play a SMART SHOT, AND DONT JUST GO FOR IT. Buy a yardage book, and see the shot before you play it see the final shot you will need to BEAT THE WIND OFF THE WATER. THE WIND IS THE REAL PRO.
RiverMarshSpring2015
Played on cold and breezy second day of spring following a harsh winter. Course had been recently aerated; greens as well as could be expected. Straightforward layout with considerable bunkering. Ninth and 17th hole tough for short hitters. All staff were courteous and friendly.
Very good overall
Everything we expected. Enjoyable. 40 minute frost delay. Was needed.
Great course for mid handicap
Several short par 4s. On long par fours and the par fives little to no trouble in front of greens. Holes 17 and 18 are worth the wait. Course was not conducive to walking especially from hole 18 back to clubhouse. Course was in great shape for the middle of winter.
