About Wisp Resort
The Wisp Resort’s 172 acres of ski terrain are heaven for winter-sports enthusiasts, but this resort offers so much more year-round. It is an outdoor playground for all ages thanks to Deep Creek Lake and an endless array of mountainous adventures: canopy tours, segways, mountain biking, a mountain coaster, disc golf, 36 holes of regular golf, gem mining, pontoon boat tours, whitewater rafting and flatwater kayaking. The Fantasy Valley and Lodestone golf courses both boast soaring scenery. Lodestone, designed by Hale Irwin, features some of the largest greens on the East Coast.Facts

Signature Hole #17 Photo submitted by NateRamsey on 04/13/2013
Conditions are improving
Work is being done to improve overall playing conditions.
Tee boxes and greens are in good shape. Some fairways still need sand leveling to renovate the lost turf from precision grass freight but that does t really impact overall playing conditions
Value for the fall is some of the best in the state
Beautiful mountain course
Lodestone Golf Course is absolutely beautiful! The mountain views are amazing, and the homes around the course have stunning architecture that adds to the experience. A perfect place for a round of golf in a gorgeous setting.
Better Days Ahead?
I have not played the course in a number of years because of conditions. Recent reviews said that there were improvements so I decided to play. The reviews on the conditions of the greens were spot on. The greens have improved substantially and were very good. As for the rest of the course, I hope there will be improvements. The fairways on the front nine were decent, but this changed on the back nine. Swamp areas next to drains? Move tee markers to save tees. Keep up the improvements.
Turning the corner
The time that they're putting in to the course is coming around, but more importantly, the staff were really solid (younger guys).
only complaint was a 32 man bachelor party that was ahead of us; that slowed the pace so much we went home after the 12th hole.
Greens
The greens are cut a d rolled everyday so they are in great shape. And shout out to the crew for redoing the fairway bunkers on #1 .
Great layout
The greens are fast and firm .! Cart paths are concrete Will be back to play again
Worth it
This place has come a long way. Driving range to warm up. Nice practice green. Tree boxes were taken care of. Greens were in great condition. Green side bunkers were fine. Take some free drops out of the fairway bunkers for now. They’ll get it fixed. Great track with great views. Will play again
A great course, in need of some loving care
Long time player at the course, having been there at the open. Greens and traps need some work but still a fun round.
Lodestone
Overall Lodestone is an excellent course.
Beautiful layout through the woods.
The greens were in excellent shape but the fairways had areas where the drainage needed to be improved. Certain areas were either dug up by carts in wet spots or dead.
Could benefit from a beverage cart as well.
Horrible Course, Outrageous Price
Went here thinking this was gonna be half decent since it sits on Wisp Resort. Found out on the first hole was not gonna be a good time. Fairways are ruffs and ruffs are forests. Price is outrageous for the terribly maintained course. Bunkers are far gone. The only good thing about this course is hole 10 has a great view. Will never come back.
What could be a great course
Work has been done to improve couurse. Still sand lacking in many sand traps, grass not being maintained Some greens in rough shape.
Still has potencial to be what it once was.
Lodestone 7/20/25
Very nice well maintained course. The area had seen a lot of rain prior so it was cart path only. Which is fine with me.. Fairways were wet throughout but overall in great condition. Greens were as close to perfect as you can get. Nicest cart path I have seen. Scenery is awesome.
Not worth the green fee
Not well maintained at all, nothing is marked clearly. Bunkers have more rocks and weeds then sand, no trash cans on the course, no water on the course one port-a-John for $90 a round terrible
Poor condition
Weeds in Sand traps, unmowed tee boxes, torn up fairways
