Gull Lake View Golf Resort
About Gull Lake View Golf Resort
Since the 1960s, the Scott family has transformed 2,000 acres in southwest Michigan into one of America's largest golf resort communities. Situated in the appropriately named Augusta, Michigan, near Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Gull Lake View Golf Resort has become synonymous with affordable packages where golfers stay in comfortable villas to enjoy six different courses, all from different eras. The East and West courses were built in the mid-1960s and mid-1970s, with the two Stonehedge courses added later in 1989 and 1994. The family bought the Bedford Valley, a classic course known for hosting tournaments, in 1988 and then put the feather in the cap, debuting the linksy Stoatin Brae by Renaissance Golf Design in 2017. Those who fall in love with the experience can buy real estate in one of several neighborhoods.Facts

Great value
Course was a great deal for what you get. Conditions were very good only a couple muddy areas but it is still May so understandable. First time playing this area and will definitely be back and would recommend
First time fun
Beautiful course, wide open but looks tighter than it is. Can be tough on a windy day. Not many on the course so pace of play was good. Playing early in the season makes it easier to play (before the grass grows tall).
Great facilities
I play this course or is sister courses several times a year, this is the earliest I've played though. The course was in wonderful condition for the time off the year and makes you appreciate the work involved to get the courses to their usual summer condition.
Club staff were, as always, very friendly and professional. I will always recommend this family of courses to anyone who asks.
Best variety in southwest Michigan
Best variety in southwest Michigan you get 6 par 3’s 6 par 4’s 6 pad 5’s ... turn the elevation changes tons of shots were you have to shot shape. Great pro tips on the score cards! Bunkers are maintained well greens roll true! Best course in south west Michigan
Tough Weather
Played in 48 degrees with 15-20 mph wind, yet enjoyed ourselves. Course in great condition. Tree lined fairways and rolling terrain helped us avoid the direct wind.
Jewel in the Boonies
Played golf in the area for 47 years and never played Bedford Valley until yesterday. Old style layout with gentle hills. Course was immaculate even though it is nearing the end of the season. Perfect day, fast round,, didn't catch the foursome in front of us until the 17th hole. My only regret is that it is not closer to my home! Played the 18 holes in about 3 hours 15 minutes.
Great golf on the North Course!!
Enjoyed playing the North Course for our anniversary! My wife enjoyed the course and shot 109. There is not a lot of forced carries which is nice for women. Greens were in great shape! Golfer friendly!!
Course is maturing fast
This course is really starting to show its true challenge. In five years this course will be the best course and challenge in Southwest Michigan. Easily already a top 10 course in the state as far as public access, for the money this course can’t be touched. They are adding the driving range now which is a must. I will have no problem driving from Chicago to play 36 for have the price of sand valley in Wisconsin. The best part of this course so far is the turf. Closest thing to this grass is The Loop and Whistling Straits when it first opened before they softened it up for PGA and now future Ryder Cup. This is a must play !!
Great start to Michigan Golf trip
We really enjoyed playing this course on our way up north. Course was in great shape. It provides a challenge, but doesn’t over do it. The course was beautiful. It has large greens, so you have to be on point with your lag putting. We hope to play here again in the future.
Course is not mature
New course about 2 years old. Wide fairways. Course lacked a defining trait. Greens immature and bumpy. Would only play at discounted rate.
Nice course BIG greens
Nice course very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside was the beer cart didn’t make it over to us and the lounge was closed when we finished so other than those minor things we had a great time. Will play again. D
Stunner! Get here now!
This is an absolutely gorgeous course. Ignore the reviews from 2017, the first year the course was open. Greens were immaculate and the entire course was well maintained. It’s a great looking course with enough difficulty to make it a challenge but not too difficult (thanks to shorter length of some holes).
I would be back to play this again and again if it weren’t 4 hours from home. Glad I got up early and snagged the 7am tee time to enjoy the beautiful course on a beautiful morning!
It's a Gem.
This Stoatin Brae course has huge potential. First off we loved the cart coolers, kept the beers and jellow shots ice cold all day. It was a perfect Saturday out there, and after some great Charles and Darls BBQ and beers the night before, our glutes were firing early and often. Keeping shots in the fairway is no problem here, so the 2 nephews and I were 7 under at the turn. The greens are perfect and roll true. It's not especially long, and we took advantage of the generous fairways here. We cranked out 6 under on the harder back side, and finished up at -13 for 3 men. Like all of Gull Lake, you can feel the spirit of Darl Scott all over the course, and as we smoked a bowl and enjoyed the spectacular vistas in the twilight, you could imagine his presence. It's a southern Michigan gem, we will be back for more of this one. Keep on Rockin.
