Gull Lake View Golf Resort
About Gull Lake View Golf Resort
Since the 1960s, the Scott family has transformed 2,000 acres in southwest Michigan into one of America's largest golf resort communities. Situated in the appropriately named Augusta, Michigan, near Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Gull Lake View Golf Resort has become synonymous with affordable packages where golfers stay in comfortable villas to enjoy six different courses, all from different eras. The East and West courses were built in the mid-1960s and mid-1970s, with the two Stonehedge courses added later in 1989 and 1994. The family bought the Bedford Valley, a classic course known for hosting tournaments, in 1988 and then put the feather in the cap, debuting the linksy Stoatin Brae by Renaissance Golf Design in 2017. Those who fall in love with the experience can buy real estate in one of several neighborhoods.Facts

Stoatin Brae
Played this course for the first time last weekend and it was awesome. It did play tight from the blacks and when I play it again I would be prepared for less than driver from most tees. Loved the small, undulating, tortoise shell greens. Very Donald Ross esque. They all putted fast and true. Not a pimple on the greens. The fairways were extremely nice and hard (rare for this region) which really allowed one to use the bounce on the club and avoid digging when trying to generate spin. Only negative is the price. We played at peak time on a weekend do the $94 loop was a bit much. Next time will get up earlier to take advantage of the discounted rates. It’s made my regular course rotation and I highly recommend it to others..
Range balls
Everything was perfect, but when booking through GN range balls were included in price. But we had to pay for range balls at course.
Well maintained course
Have heard lots of good things about Gull Lake and the 6 golf courses. Found this 9 hole rate with a cart and couldn't pass up $22. It did rain on and off, but the course was in great shape, tees, fairways, and greens. A really pretty course, with a challenging layout, but still plenty of room for some forgiveness. Will definitely play here again when I travel to Michigan.
Very nice layout
Really enjoyed the course. A nice layout, good conditions and great pace of play. A long course from the back tees but there are plenty of shorter tees to play as well.
Great Challenging Course!
Challenging! Bring extra balls, grass very thick and can lose a ball a foot off the fairway!. Beautiful setting, greens were awesome and the fairways were tight!
Nearly 2 hours and 45 minutes for 9
In defense of course, Michigan has had continual rain. Therefore incredible amount of unseasoned players on a sunny day. Dreadful slow round, no continuity. I left after 9 holes despite paying for 18. Very unhappy with the experience.
Phenomenal Golf course!
Arrived at the Stoatin Brae golf course early morning on a Monday. Staff were happy to see us and quickly had us loaded up and ready to go. Range facility was decent and offered a great elevated view of the surrounding countryside as you warmed up. The course was in great shape and found to have some diabolical green complexes. Greens ran smooth and were a reasonable speed. Do not believe that they can get the greens much past 11 stimp as they would severely limit usable pin locations.
Layout was exceptional (Renaissance design comp- Tom Doak influence) with very generous landing areas from the tee boxes. I would compare it to Arcadia South (without the immaculate conditioning). Do not hesitate to go play now as I can see rates skyrocketing as soon as it gets polished and popular. You will not be disappointed!
Very slow play
Course had very slow play. It took 5 1/2 hours to play a round. Marshall on the course was very ineffective with that many players on the course.
One of my favorite local courses.
Bedford Valley is a pristine course, providing plenty of challenge. BV is one of my favorite Calhoun County courses!
A long drive, but worth it!
Had not played this course in 15 years and what a treat! Beautiful and well laid out, this course is challenging but playable for all levels with many trees to choose from.
Great course
Beautiful course! Well laid out with lots of big beautiful trees!
Good Tines
Enjoyed Stonehedge South with my golf buddies. First really nice golfing day weather wise. Course really busy and therefore played slow
The greens were the worst of the 6 courses we played associated with Gull Lake View, it appeared as something was leaking from the mower on the greens.
Gull Lake West
Played West course Memorial weekend in a foursome. Only seen a couple golfers on course which seemed weird but weather may have played a factor and was nice but concerned me. I have played all 6 courses and even though West is probably the worst of the 6, it is in great shape and challenging. Honestly the collection of courses that are offered is fantastic. If I were to rank all 6 it would be....
1. Stoatin Brae
2. Stonehenge North
3. Gull Lake East
4. Stonehenge South
5. Bedford Valley
6. Gull Lake West
