Loon Golf Resort

Butch Harmon signature course, pictures of Natalie Gulbis everywhere may have raised expectations too high. The yardage markers were inconsistent and sometimes non-existent, but the holes were interesting. Some of the tips on the scorecard were laughable: "Par 5, hit it long and straight", or "Long par 5, lay up if you can't make it in two".

One of the most interesting courses I've played. Many challenging holes, but pace of play was extremely slow. Three hours to finish 9 holes. Bag boys were great, loaded clubs onto the cart but then there was no starter on the first hole. It was a free for all. Would not go back unless they change their start procedures.

Took the family - all had a great time. They loved #18 - over the water...Compared to the near courses there (within a few miles) - this one takes the prize. Not as massive as Tree Tops' courses....but the Loon is worth the $$ (We got the Hot Deal...)

Played a foursome- slow going but a super nice day, so who cares! 10th hole jam up, lunch people merging back into play caused a big backup!

EXCEPT FOR THE SLOW PLAY WHICH MIGHT HAVE BEEN DUE TO A GROUP ACTIVITY THE COURSE CONDITIONS WERE EXCELLENT. HAD A GREAT TIME .

Great scenery. Very well kept. Immaculate greens. Up north at its best.

Won't be the last! Great setting and great place to relax for 18. The lady working at the bar was super friendly. We had a later tee time and she stuck around till we made the turn to see if we needed anything before she left for the day.

The loon was in excellent shape Very friendly staff. Watch out for the greens- very fast. We wil be playing this course again

I haven't played the course in many years. I was mildly impressed with the course condition. It was in very good shape. There are some very challenging holes, especially if you play from the blue tees. We were a twosome, behind a foursome, it felt like it was taking a lot of time, but finished in 4 hours. Ate at the club after and the food was very good.

Arrived early due to unfamiliarity with the area. Was allowed to go off a little early due to folks with earlier tee time were late. Course was very well manicured and greens were consistent. Lots of trees and a fair amount of water, but not a lot of bugs, thank goodness. Did lose a few balls in the woods and water, so bring plenty of extras. Will definitely come back again someday. Very nice scenic setting in Northern Michigan with great views.

Slow play took almost 6 hours for 2 some to play 18 holes . While on back 9 the sprinkler head came on the fairway right next to the Golf cart everything got wet . Course is in Great Condition this course is not for everyone!

Course was in great shape and pace was great, however I stunk up the place! Not long but tight in spots. Cut back jungle in some areas, and you can usually find an errant shot. Did notice additional landscaping, plantings, and workers.

Interesting holes! Would play again for sure. Great value using GolfNow. Would not pay normal rates.

Golf course was in excellent condition. Go play it for sure using golf now prices.

If you haven't played the loon you have to try it. Its in great shape almost any time. you'll go back again.
