Loon Golf Resort
About Loon Golf Resort
The Loon Golf Resort has grown to include a second location in Gaylord: The Ridge, formerly the Marsh Ridge Golf Resort. The Loon offers a townhome village with four-bedroom/four-bathroom units with full kitchens just steps from the clubhouse restaurant and the course. The Ridge is more versatile with hotel-style rooms, suites and free-standing condos, all within walking distance to the Summit Grill. Lodges named Copenhagen (11 rooms, one apartment), Summit (20 rooms) and Bergen (12 rooms) all feature a large common/recreation area. The Scandinavian Cabin sleeps 12 with six bedrooms, a fireplace, full kitchen and living area. Its 6,231-yard course is short but beautiful. The 6,418-yard Lakes course sports four holes on Lake Michaywe roughly four miles from both resort properties.Facts

This was a beauty of a course.
The course was in terrific condition. The front 9 had some long holes, but the setting was great. Greens & fairways were in very good condition. The tee boxes could use a little work-they have some tilt to them. Altogether had a very enjoyable day, even played the front 9 twice.
Great Deal, but other courses are better
Marsh Ridge is a decent course, but when compared to others in the area, it is second rate. The tee boxes look like they have been through a war.
The course was in great shape
Played the Loon Golf Resort many times and this play was the BEST.
This course has very nice well maintained greens although the second cutting off the fairways need to be a little shorter.
The staff and course was great. They need alttle attention to the second cutting around the fairways. They are alittle long and keep losing my balls in them. We had a wonderful time and would go there again.
fair but challenging
The course was in very good shape and has some holes that are challenging and others that provide opportunities for pars and birdies. Club selection is key.
Very enjotable.
Fun course
course is challenging. up hill, down hill, dog legs and uneven greens and sometimes tees. Hard to get a good score.
Fantastic Layout
I really enjoy playing courses that have a lot of variety and this one fit that criteria. Water, trees, sand, and varying elevations; it had them all. The holes were challenging but were very fair. The length was extremely manageable for an average golfer. I would definitely like to play this one again.
Will play again.
The front nine needs some attention. The rough is weedy and bare in spots but the greens and fairways are ok. The back nine is very enjoyable and in better shape. some of the holes are pretty tight and require good club selection. i will play again.
Very nice course; kept in fine shape.
Behind a huge outing that made pace of play a bit slow. Staff very friendly.
Great value!
Loved everything about the course except there was NO marshall. We played as a 2-some and the 4-some in front of us didn't let us play through til the turn. We then proceeded to play through 17 before even SEEING a group in front of us.
Other than that it was a WONDERFUL golf experience we will be back!
I plan on returning in the near future. I would recomend this course to everyone.
I had a great time .many beautiful holes.Greens were perfect. Will go again
Well maintained, fun course to play. I try to make it an annual course for our up north trips.
This is a fun course to play. I played with my 80 year old mom, dad, and brother. We all had a great time. The course is challenging, but fair. Make it a part of your northern Michigan golf experience.
Course for all levels. Nice layout.
Very friendly staff. Good layout that can challenge all levels. MAintained very well.
course was in very good condition and the price was excellent.
course was in good condition and the price was excellent. I would like to see some A.M. tee time AND WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY ABOUT $25.
Tough but fair
Course was in excellent shape. Played from the Silver tees which was challenging but fair if you hit a good shot. Beautiful landscape, breakfast bar and well attended to course.
Placement
Not long, but more placement type course. Just like any course, more difficult for first time player.
Nice Course for the money
Had a great time with my Dad there on Fathers Day, overall great experience. Couple tough tee shots, which would of been fine if I was driving the ball good that day, but I wasn't. Couple traps had a different consistency than the rest which caught me on one hole. Not sure if it was the rain we got the night before but mosquitos were out, they were fine the front 9, which is the farthest away from the marsh area, bring a little spray and it would be fine, we just didn't have any. I love coming down to Gaylord to play golf and I'd definitely come here again.
very good
I draw the ball but too many doglegs that require a fade6/14/13
Very Playable, good conditions, scenic and enjoyable
Overall very good -- got behind a couple of foursomes on the back nine who probably took 6 hours to play. No one behind us so we replayed 6 holes on the back. Great value for the price and overall a good experience.
Very interesting course.
The course was in very good shape. It is interesting without being extremely difficult. Rewards a good shot.
