About Lutsen Resort
Lutsen Resort On Lake Superior sits where the Poplar River meets the largest Great Lake (also the second-largest lake in the world). The historic resort – home to lodge rooms, log cabins, townhomes, Sea Villas and Poplar River Condos - overlooks a large pebble beach of a secluded, private cove where swimming, kayaking and fishing are perfect summer past times. The Scandinavian architecture offers a special charm. Romantic dining comes courtesy of the Waterfront Dining Room. The resort fee allows for complimentary 9-hole pitch and putt golf, disco golf, shuffleboard, indoor pools and hot tubs, live music on the beach and nightly bonfires with smores kits available at the front desk. The scenic 27-hole Superior National at Lutsen is a “driver and a 7 iron” away from the resort.Facts

A Must See and Play Course
A beautiful golf course with incredible views of changing fall colors and Lake Superior. Excellent shape. I used a hot deal to receive a very good price yet normal rates were fair considering the quality and experience of the course.
Great course
Excellent course to play very challenging. Beautiful layout with Lake Superior as a backdrop.
Superior National
Beautiful scenery and great golf golf layout and conditions.
Awesome golf vacation destination.
This is an great resort course with many signature holes.
Superior National Golf Course
The course is well laid out and offers great scenery and is challenging also.
Beautiful scenic course
Nature here is excellent. However, the pace of play on Canyon 9 was brutally slow and many of the greens had un-repaired ball marks.
Beautiful course layout and scenery. course is not manicured like a top notch course but it is still a great track to play.
Rainy day
The canyon 9 holes was great . Nice shape and spectacular views . River 9 was ok . Not as good condition . It was a rainy day , with no one in front of us .
Way overpriced
First time I’ve played this course since the $5 million renovation. Was shocked they put most of that money into the River 9 as it’s easily the worst 9 on the course. Mountain had minimal changes and that was the best 9. They have some nice views but course is extremely gimmicky. Fact they charge $111 when Fortune Bay and Giants charge less is a travesty. Those places provide 100* the golf experience. I felt it was a massive ripoff.
Great coyrse
I play superior national once a year, it is worth the drive. The course is challenging ND fun to play. Some of the greens had issues but the rest was great.
Fun course in a beautiful setting
The course is in great shape and very playable when played from the correct tees. As nice as the course is, playing there is mostly about the spectacular scenery. Take time for a few pictures.
Beautiful Fun Course
The course is in great shape and fun to play. The second 9 is amazing.
Amazing views
Loved every minute. Every hole was incredible. Beautiful in all the fall colors.
Disappointing
Paid over $200 for my wife and I. Can’t believe they charge you additionally for the driving range. The club house guy said it’s always been that way……my response was “that doesn’t make it right or first class”. Always have enjoyed the track and the sand traps are in great shape. Recently aerated greens made the experience not worth the money. No water on the course, no cart girl on the course, no Marshall on the course, $8 to warm up on the driving range. Way better places to play. I have played up there many times and unfortunately probably won’t be back. Much prefer Wilderness and Giants Ridge courses which are less money, free ranges, better amenities and superb conditions and layouts. Glad SUPERIOR NAtional spent millions on a remodel. Just wish it was worth it. It wasn’t for me today. Try the others I mentioned instead.
