Very Nice Course
Beautiful layout. Very hilly and quite difficult with relatively long carries to fairways. Greens were wicked fast. Make sure you play the appropriate tees. The group in front of us should have been up a set. Played in April so grass wasn't very long or green. Other than the extremely slow play, enjoyed my round.
Wonderful but still brown fairways in March
It is a wonderful course. Since it is late March the fairways are not yet green. Some challenging shots. There is a fair amount of down hill or across water shots. Only one hole is really up hill, the 18th. Most of the fairways were narrower than expected. Most of the greens are very large. The stone work and land sculpting is the best I have ever seen. The club house is lavishly manly.
Great Golf Course
The course was very challenging w/ narrow fairways and lots of blind shots. But overall My son and I loved the course and recommend everyone to play it at least once in your life. We will try it again sometime soon.
beautiful course
magnificient layout, each hole is like a post card view.
great elevation changes
excellent course wet conditions due to snow but uncontrollable.genefuller1951 love the elevation changes and layout of the golf course would come again enjoyed experience
Cart path only made for a long round and workout
The course was in great condition for this time of year, with good dormant turf to hit from tee to green. However, the cart-pat- only rule for today made it very tiring by the time we finished. Very little traffic, but a lost ball here and there, and the long trek from the cart path had us tuckered out by the end of the round. Lots of rolling hills with fairly narrow fairways added a good challenge. You don't come back to the clubhouse at the turn, so we had to take water with us, which was fine. But I should've taken a stronger beverage for my back. No GPS, but seldom had difficulty getting distance from the cart path and sprinkler heads. Golfnow.com made this outing possible, with the excellent rate we had, and I will definitely be playing this course again when my game is in full swing. When you leave the clubhouse, there is no 1st tee marker at the tee at the practice green, and we turned left instead of right because we didn't see the driving range-first tee sign at the end of the cart path at the street to the right. After a U-turn and a lost minute, we figured it out, but the sign is a good distance from the tee in the cart path at the practice green. Will know next time.
great course
the course is very scenic with elevation changes. tee shots needs to be fairly straight, lots of hazards on off line tee shots. bent grass greens are in very good condition and challenging to two putt.
The views on this course are magnificent.
This was our second time to play this course and we will certainly play it again. It has large greens and beautiful fairways that are wide enough you can keep your ball in play.
Best course I've ever played!
A true PGA Championship course, I've played a lot of nice courses, but this one was the best of all. Every part of the course was pristine...the tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, greens...and even roughs were in great shape.
An interesting and challenging course, enjoyed the opportunity to experience it.
I enjoyed the opportunity to play this course. It was late in the season, but the course was in good shape for this time of the year.
Great
This course is one of the best that I have played. Troon golf courses are outstanding.
The weather was beautiful as was the course. We have played this course before and loved it. Will play again.
The weather was beautiful as was the course. We have played this course before and will play it again when we can. Thank you
Beautiful Course in mid-America
This golf course is likely the finest I've ever played, including some courses that have held PGA and USGA events. The course difficulty deserves noting. Premiums are placed off the tee in playing to the areas that allow shots into the greens. The green complexes are masterful in design and will challenge any short game, while the greens themselves roll true should you be able to read the line in the subtle slopes. The grounds staff should stand up and give themselves a hand as the conditioning of the tract is second to none. This being my second time to play this course in less than a year, it does help to have a bit of first round knowledge due to some not so obvious tee shots. Anyone attempting to play from a set of tees that is pushing their ability will quickly find they have their first error of the day, but with a number of teeing grounds, it's probably the easiest of the day to fix. Balls in the fairway are rewarded with perfect lies, but any errant shot will likely cost you 1/2 stroke if your in the primary cut, a full shot of more for the wayward stroke into the native grasses, creeks, and other areas. Simply a beautiful use of Ozark Mountain terrain and a fitting tribute to Payne Stewart class and style.
Must play
Enjoyed every moment and every hole. The scenery is gorgeous.
I played 4 courses in Branson and Payne Stewart was tops.
For a 13.5 handicap playing from the silver tee box was more fun and better scoring, and less challenging than the blues. Beautiful course with lots of scenery. Next time in Branson I'll be playing from the Blue box and test my ability.
Course well very well maintained. In great shape. I think the greens had been aereated.
Although the greens were still sandy from the aeration. Otherwise, the course was in great shape, and I enjoyed it.
A taste of the conditions of a PGA course!
Breathtaking vistas and greens are a learning experience. Bring your A game, this course gets tougher as it goes.
Payne Stewart Golf Club is what golf was meant to be.
The course layout was challenging and yet still playable for the average golfer. The tremendous elevation changes combined with the beauty of the Ozarks as a backdrop only added to the enjoyment of playing this incredible course. The enjoyment starts as soon as you pull up and are welcomed by the very friendly and helpful staff and it only got better from there. Don't pass up an opportunity to play this course!!
very nice course!
'played from the green tees which proved challenging but had a great round of golf. I don't recommend playing further back than the silver tee unless you're a long ball hitter.
course is laid out very well and is quiet scenic
enjoyed playing course for first time. a couple of greens were a bit too much but has many scenic and well thought out holes. would recommend course for price. will play again if in the area.
