Great Value / Unexpected Surprise
I really liked this course. Tees and Greens were in great shape, fairways were good, rough was tough but fair. If only the rain wasn't there, I think I would have enjoyed it even more. I will try it again when the weather is better, then I can really let you know.
Back to old form
This course went public a few years back and i think lost some of its greens shortly after that. Prior to going public it was the hidden gem of Golf courses in the area, it is now back to the old form. The greens are in about the best shape greens can be in, the fairways and tee boxes are great as well. Do yourself a favor and play there. Chic runs the place and is working hard to get this place back to its old glory, he mentioned they are working on adding a range. cant wait to go back
Great Layout
Excellent shape considering soggy conditions
Great day
We had a great day. Love the nature and course is in great shape. Traps could have been a little better, greens were very nice.
18 holes in 3 hours
This will be the last time I review a course as I don't mind checking buttons, but I do not want to write a review and they will not let you rate a course without a written review.
Best bang for your buck!
Played 5 or 6 public courses so far this year. Union hills is by far in the best condition. Friendly staff. Course isn't to busy. Location is its only downside for me.
Green
The fairways were surprisingly green for this time of year but the greens were true winter shaggy and we could not figure out how to put till the end...all around fun round ad we felt we had the course to ourselves
Well maintained even in winter
Enjoyed it brought my 14 year old who is learning and dId not feel pushed at all
Tough One
Worthy of it's GN rating. Very well maintained for November. Greens were in great shape. Pretty tough even from the whites. Lots of fun drives where you can watch your entire shot. Bit of a hike from the city, but not too far off I55.
Good course, good price
This is a challenging track. It's in good condition, a few bare spots on two or three greens. The back nine is considerably stiffer than the front. No spectacular holes but no dogs either. Nice layout.
Gorgeous day
The weather was far better than my golf. The course was in pretty good shape, tee boxes were really good, fairways were okay and most greens needed some work. All greens had some weeds and bare spots. Also, some aeration was in progress.
Did not appreciate the marshal harrassing us...
Paid for 18 holes with a 4:30 tee time. Volunteer marshal harassed us to finish up..."Did you make that turn after 9?", "Did you pay for only 9?", "Well, I'm leaving at 7!". It was only 6:40 with plenty of daylight left. We felt compelled to return to the clubhouse and there were several other people still out on the course!!
If you have 5-6 hours to waste
Extremely slow play. Large groups that took their time.
Tough little course
Overall this was a solid little course with some challenging holes. The back 9 was extremely challenging, especially playing it for the first time. I think I hit 4 under on the front and 7 over on the back. The greens were also ridiculously hard for some reason on the day I played; however, my friends I played with said that is usually not the case. The food and beverage girls were extremely nice and so was the rest of the staff.
I think the course conditions could get a little better, particularly the greens and tee boxes. But overall it was a pretty decent course.
Usually a nice course
Have played union hills many times and has always been a good experience. But this time was just ok. They're having a problem with a lot of their greens. Bare spots and weeds. If booked as a hot deal still a good value.
Great value
This course has a fairly easy front 9 but a much tougher back. In fairly good shape and easy to get a round in reasonable time.
Condition lacking!
Many fairways were near bare, especially on the front nine. Greens were rolling slow and had a bunch of debris on them. Expected better but got a very good price with a 'hot deal'. Would play again at that rate.
1st time
I am a newbie, played w/ 3 experienced coworkers. Great price from GOLFNOW, $21. on a Sunday A.M.. Staff friendly & helpful. Course condition very good. My partners were all also impressed. Only down side, no refreshment cart after 1pm. Very enjoyable experience. The union way ;-)
Course is great for the average and good golfer alike
The course is in good condition and is forgiving enough is part and very challanging to. Theses greens are great and hold the ball well. UNION hills is one of my favorites and is priced right!
great course for just about anything
had a great time on 4th of july. rate of play was fast. and staff was friendly
