Great Views!
Course winds through the hills & gullies of the western LV suburbs with Red Rocks as a backdrop. It was very challenging with many elevation changes. Very pretty course! Course had been over-seeded, but kind of spotty so you had to move your ball to hit off new grass. The bunkers were very difficult. They were like soft concrete with a little sand sprinkled on top (seems weird not to have sand in the desert). Other than that it was a very enjoyable round. (We finished at rush hour & were staying in Lake Las Vegas so traffic across the city was bad)
Nice course - poor visual sightlines
The course was in good shape and was a fair and forgiving course design but the fairways were hard to see because of vegetation grown up between the tee and the fairway. It was as if the course was designed with no consideration of the impacts of the vegetation, or the course’s green keepers have a differing views from the initial design: Over half the holes seemed like blind shots. It would be fine for repeat players but hard for first time or occasional players.
Great course - but a little overpriced
We loved the course, people were great.
Sand traps need work, they were extremely hard.
For $160, there are courses of equal or better for significantly less money. Spanish Trails, Revere - both courses to name a few.
Slow round, no Marshall herding
Green was less than desirable, perhaps it's because of summer. Pace was terrible and nobody in sight to speed things up. Played here many time but sadly disappointed this time.
Arroyo
The course is a good track, with plenty of elevation changes and a good variety of holes.
There is quite a distance between some of the holes, but the directions were clearly marked.
This course does not over-seed, but instead they aerate heavily. There were large dry areas with almost no grass, and the rest of the fairways were quite thin. The rough was not too deep.
The greens were in good shape and putted true, but slower than the practice green.
The driving range was closed, which we didn't know until we arrived.
Nice course but disappointing conditions
This is a good layout and very scenic. Good variety of holes and different shot requirements. It was also very playable for my wife, with forward tees that gave her a chance to enjoy her round.
Problem was the conditions for the price. Greens were mostly pretty good but noticeable amounts of weeds on some, which easily knocked putts off line. More importantly - they had grooved the fairways, apparently prepping to overseed. Plus there were a significant number of areas where the fairways were brown, with little grass. I certainly understand that courses have to do maintenance, but do the right thing and either knock the price down or at the very least inform me so I have the option to change.
Great layout
This course snaked through a neighborhood, but was very well marked
Great course, lots of tees to play the course it different looks. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Beautiful course, but driving to a few of the holes was confusing.
Enjoyable Golf Course
This was a very good value on Golf Now. The course is very nice and really clean in a gated community. The views and condition of the grounds created a great atmosphere for a memorable round of golf. The tee boxes and fairways were in great condition for a desert style course. The greens had been recently punched and sanded and were a little slow but still rolled true. It was challenging but not extremely difficult if you played from the appropriate tee boxes for your skill level. The water, desert landscaping if you missed the fairway and numerous sand traps made the course a good challenge. The staff was very friendly and courteous at every stage of my visit. I would recommend this course when you visit Vegas and will definitely play there again.
Long drives between holes
An otherwise very good course cut up with exceptionally long distances between holes - in some cases it took longer to drive between holes than to play them. Course was I good shape, we'll maintained and the layout of fairways and greens provided a good challenge.
Great course
I have nothing to say bad about this course. It was a gen of a layout and the foundations were good. A few fairways were burnt up from the desert weather but the greens were great.
Nice course
This was an enjoyable course to play. Its is set inside a housing development up against the Red Rock Canyons/Mountains west of downtown Las Vegas. I more enjoyed the 12 holes from the original Arnold Palmer design.(apparently the first 6 holes were added when a second course was added at this facility). There is a long drive to the first hole and then from the 6th to 7th holes so you definitely need to ride. It is very playable with varying degrees of challenge so you can select the level that fits your game. Overall I enjoyed my round even though it was quite hot that afternoon.
Public course at Red Rock
I accidentally checked in at the Private Golf Club at Red Rock and was politely given directions to the public course a short distance away.
The public course at Red Rock that I played was a good golf course can't imagine how much better the private club course can be. Enjoyed the course!
Slow Play
We were a three-some on a busy morning. The pace of play was extremely slow. We ended up quitting after 7 holes - as we were easily headed for a 5+ hour round. It was really hot and we ran out of water - never saw the refreshment cart. Also, we played the arroyo - not the mountain course. This is not the first time that we have experienced slow play on this course.
Beautiful conditions
The course was in fantastic condition, which for me is 90% of any golf experience. Well designed for a neighborhood-routed course. Definitely recommend during your tour of Las Vegas courses. Clubhouse and off-course service and amenities were functional. We had to start our round on a weird hole, like 8, which was annoying -- got lost going back to the clubhouse after the round and the stop/start front/back/front threw off the pace of the round.
One Word to describe "Unbelievable"
This course is truly "Unbelievable". Course was in such immaculate shape. Greens rolled true. Fairways were lush green. The first few holes were very challenging. You have to hit the ball long and in play. Bunkers are strategically placed so tee shots have to be accurate. Every hole seemed cut out of a magazine. The rough was so evenly cut, that you had decent still a decent shot onto the green. Every hole I played, I was simply amazed on how beautiful it was. The most memorable hole was a 190 yard par 3 with a 30 foot drop in elevation (all carry). And in the background was the Strip. I would surely revisit this course on my next trip back to Vegas.
4 Star Course
Pros: Excellent condition of the fairways, greens and bunkers.
Cons: The holes tend to look the same as it seems like every hole is lined on both sides by big expensive homes.
Great Course!
For the price, under $70 for a Sunday morning, you can't go wrong with this course. Course was in great condition. Staff was very friendly. Greens are fast. Fun course to play. Would highly recommend.
