Coarse is a 4 star, throw in staff a 3 star.

Arrived and placed bag at the bag drop. There it stayed until I tracked someone down. I warmed up and proceeded to hole 1 with no starter. I was a single and a foresome was there to. My tee time was earlier and had to battle with them to go ahead. Point being no starter, big issues. The coarse is well worth the golf now price of 33 bucks. Will give the staff another try.

Play it if you're looking for a carnival challenge.

Highlight: Restaurant - food great, setting pretty and quiet, service good.

I'm a low handicap frequent player. This report is based on one warm sunny day experience.

The course is built in a wooded area. Remember to take your bug spray in summer. The course designer must have had a carnival game in mind. For golf courses in general, there are usually 5-7 obstacles (i.e. bends in the fairways, terrain variations, bunkers, trees, water and other hazards, etc.) designed into the layout here and there to challenge golfers in their attempts to make par or better. Here at Sea Oaks, several of those deterrents have been imposed on nearly every hole from tee to green -- many of them a surprise because they are out of view of the golfers from where they are hitting.

Don't expect a "perfect" hit from the tee or the fairway to yield good results. Almost every fairway is rife with moguls which kick the ball of the best planned and executed shot off into the woods, water, bunker, depression or awkward lie. There are bunkers behind bunkers behind bunkers. There are more holes with stategically-placed bunkers in the middle of the fairway than I have ever encountered. Hitting successfully around any of the obstacles is more luck than skill because of the angles of the fairway. A well-placed shot could (and often does) easily kick the ball into an undesired place.

The fairways suffer from the sun and a lot of un-repaired areas of wear and tear. The large greens are in pretty good shape. Though slow, they run smoothly. Most of my iron approach shots held close to their intended place (usually within 6 inches to 10 feet).

Sea Oaks is a course you would have to play many times to learn the most successful routes to the green. Even for the avid golfer, luck plays a bigger role on this course than on any other I have played. If you think you are good, this course will cut you down to size. I will say that my wife had a lot less trouble. Her average drive and fairway (low velocity shots) travel from 60 - 85 yards (usually straight). She had much less trouble finding a pathway through the gauntlet to the green.

If you are not one prone to throwing his clubs in frustration, you should try this course at least once. It will certainly prove to you that golf is a game you can never master. If you dominate the courses you regularly play, then you are ready for the Sea Oaks challenge.

Great layout, greens need lots of work though.

I loved the course itself, but the greens were really torn up. The quality of the grass was good, but there were so many unfixed divots and bumps in the green that it was very difficult to keep putts true. I lost 8 strokes because of a bump that pushed the putt off its line. They need to do something about that; otherwise, an excellent course with several real challenges, and a decent value at $50.

beautiful layout,

the course was a real challenge. It was a great layout and fair. The gold tees were pretty long but fair. Only problem was it had rained the previous evening and thus it was "cart path only" . With the heat it made it a very hot round. Would like to play it again. Very good value thanks to Golfnow.com

Good condition for the hot dry weather

The course was in very good condition despite the extremely hot weather NJ has had during the past few weeks. The greens were cut a little high, which made for slow putts, but that enhanced the quality of the play.

I recommend this course, especially if you play twilight hours and get the GolfNow rates.

to much play ,terrible service, rates to high for course condition

Not only did I wait on every hole on a overbooked over played course but I also overpaid. I booked my tee time for a discounted price on golf now and when I, but when the kid at pro shop gave me my total it was more then what I thought I booked it for. I could have been mistaken so with cash in hand I paid and had to reach in pocket and get more,my beer money! The kid said ok go ahead get cart no receipt. Ok that's weird I always get two one for starter and one with amount paid. Kinda golf course protocol isn't it? So I asked for receipt , the kid stutters o o o k , not until I was outside did I look and it was the one for starter, lol whatever. So playing round mind boggling over this as I wait on every tee box not until I get home I check my golf now confirmation email and sure enough I overpaid. Coincidence? I don't think so. If so why avoid giving me receipt especially when I always get them at sea oaks. So I will bring my business to better valued courses which I actually get what I pay for .

Nice course,facilities

Have played it several times ,very good value if you can get it at a low price on golfnow. Played it on a super hot and humid day so I had a pretty rough go ,not the courses fault.,in decent shape greens were a bit slow but to me it's not a premium $80 course but for $25 a great value.

Worth the trip to play witohut having to head to AC.

Starter let us out early since several other groups on the tee sheet didn't show up. There were only 2 of us and we moving a good pace. At the 4th hole the group in front let us play through and that shaved about 30 minutes off the round. Everyone from the bag drop, to Pro Shop and Starter were all pleasure to work with and look forward to the next round.

Fun!

Had a lot of fun on this course. Teamed up with a couple of older locals. The course has some hills and elevated tees greens are nice but bunkers were like concrete. Lots of rain though. Might have contributed. The clubhouse is very comfortable and food and beer were reasonable. Burger was good not great.

Fair off the tee with tough undulating greens

Course was in good shape eventhough we have had heavy rains for a week. Greens are smooth and in good shape with many undulations and subtle to severe breaks based on the pin placement. Not overly long but with 5 sets of tees can be played to accomodate all. Nice layout with many bunkers and tough greens. Would play again!

Enjoyed everything about this course

It had rained pretty heavy the night before, so conditions were wet, but we still enjoyed the round. Would highly recommend. Great value and worth the trip from Atlantic City. Nice bar also!

A day after 4" of rain.

Course was very playable. Sets up well off the tee with wide fairways and ample room to avoid trouble and bunkering. Some great long par 3's. even with the rain volume the day before, and cart path only, it was a good day of golf.

very nice course but the greens were too slow

The layout is very nice but the green was too slow. They should do something about the greens so that it matches the great layout of the golf course.

Nice course

Sea oaks is the nicest course in my general
area. With the exception of the 1- 450 yard par 4
it isn't a long course which makes it much more
playable for the average golfers!! Greens are very
fast but very true too if you read them right and
put your putts online they will find the cup!! If
there's anything bad I have to say about this
course it's that it's not worth 107$ to play but I don't
think any course without some history of PGA
events or something should be!! I played at 3pm
for 45$ well worth that price but 107$ is more
than any course within 50 miles of here so book it
later in day and enjoy!!!
