Mountain Creek Resort
About Mountain Creek Resort
Mountain Creek Resort is a four-season destination in Vernon, N.J., just an hour outside of New York City. It features a waterpark; the 27-hole Great Gorge course, which was purchased in 2018; the Treescape Aerial Adventure Park, home to zip-lining, climbing obstacles and rope walks; and a Bike Park of 52 trails that is loaded with jumps and 1,000 feet of vertical drop. The course was part of the old Playboy Club in the 1970s and 1980s, attracting famous names such as Dean Martin and Bob Hope for a game. It’s a beautiful property with wonderful mountain views and elevation changes. Guests can stay in the Appalachian hotel or enjoy more space and privacy in a one- to three-bedroom townhome rental at Black Creek Sanctuary. Both accommodations offer outdoor pool and hot tub facilities.Facts

Great place to play a rounding of golf
My first time playing here and I really enjoyed it. Several holes were challenging but most of the courses are well structured.
Pace of play; marshall
Probably won't go back; busy or not ; having six people tee off from same tee; unacceptable; all due to lack of marshall to oversee pace of play...not acceptable
Slow slow
I hope beginners should learn etiquettes of golf instead of playing game.
So many beginners
There were so slow players and no etiquette of golf.
Those didn’t care about other group of players. There were no rangers to make them hurry.
Anyhow it was a good time playing this golf course with hot deal price. Well maintained greens and fairways.
Great day but windy!!
Tough course from the greens with windy conditions. Greens were perfect but tough.
Traps need sand
Coarse conditions were excellent, except 80% of sand Traps had no sand. However they were well groomed
Improved but needs work
Played as a twosome Lake and Quarry course. Tee time was 1:30 PM. We began behind a foursome two men two women we observed for approximately 15 minutes on the first T as the men attempted to give the ladies a lesson there were numerous swing and Misses before contact was finally made after about 20 minutes. One of the gentlemen motioned us to play through. We accepted gratefully. We never saw them again. We proceeded to finish our round in approximately 4 1/2 hours, not bad considering. The course conditions were good considering the time of year. I have played the Lake course many times where the ground ate your shoes as you sunk into the sunk into the mud. This year, the fairways were consistently hard and the ball actually ran a bit the greens, where what I considered slow but true if you happen to go in a trap, he prepared not to see any sand. Overall, the course could use an influx of cash. The cart path are horrendous. I wouldn’t play if I had hemorrhoids. The tee areas are generally fairly beaten up and need to be rotated especially on the par threes. Despite the foregoing complaints I would still say it’s a playable golf course with a very good layout.
Need to fluff up the bunkers.
Hitting out of the bunker was very challenging. They were like dirt not sand. Lost a few strokes because the bunkers were not sand.
