Golf at Renault Vineyard
This course used to be beautiful, many fairways had little to no grass on them.
It was cartpath only when it hadn’t rained in a week. Had I known this I would have gone somewhere else, needless to say I will never play there again!!
STAY AWAY
I don't even know where to start. What a disgrace. No fairways left. They dragged them which made them a total wreck and almost impossible to find a place to hit your ball. There is so much dead grass and dirt your ball just hits and stops. They also made it cart path only for the rest of the YEAR which doesn't bother me but you should let the public know before you book. I can say the greens were very nice. It was a beautiful day and I'm a single handicap. Also before my round the guys at the bag drop warned me of the conditions. When I asked the person at the front desk he got so defensive and asked me how much I payed for the round so I assumed since I only paid $50 It was OK for the course to be a total wreck. SAVE your money and more important save your time. You won't be able to get those 4.5 hours back.
Course is in poor shape
Fairway grass is nonexistent. I hope it is better in the spring.
Terrible shape, should be embarrassed to charge high fees,
Will never come back. Terrible playing condition s.
Sad shape of course
Sorry to say the course is in terrible shape. Fairways are a wasteland from no rain and no irrigation. Very slow pace on the back nine. Not currently worth what they are asking. I hope it is better in the spring...
Poor Conditions
We normally enjoy Vineyard National but not this time as they have lost 50% of the fairways due to the lack of watering.. When the course conditions are this poor they should offer a reasonable credit for that day or future use. Not very golfer customer friendly. Don’t waste your money.
Sub Par Course Conditions
The extreme heat and lack of rain has seriously damaged turf conditions at Vineyard National. Fairways &tee boxes are devoid of grass and greens were only acceptable. What bothers me the most is that management continues to charge players $80-$100 per round for the privilege to play here with the course in sub par shape. I guess if players are willing to pay big $ to play crabgrass & dirt I should should open my backyard up for play. Seriously, I enjoy the layout and work they have done at Renault ,I understand the golf industry but have played $35 munis in better condition comon' man.
Going downhill fast
Played here twice in the last 3 weeks. What happened!!! This course used to be so nice but not no more. The fairways on 1 thru 14 were all dirt with weeds growing everywhere. The tee boxes were half dead. Had wished I had read these reviews before we booked. Reviewers have said it was caused by the drought ??? I dont get this because there are sprinklers up and down every fairway. I would not recommend playing this course til next year.
Greens were in Bad Shape after Aeration
First let me say I I love the Vineyards golf course and I normally would recommend playing here and I would give better ratings.
But on this day, the Pace of play was so slow and The greens were so bad & bumpy that we should have played winter rules with automatic two putts.
Not to mention, two members of our foursome quit after 9 holes and got a partial refund.
I’m a scratch golfer and the group behind me gave me crap because I played the back tees and they felt the pace would pick up if I moved up.
They hit up on us twice but I refused to lower myself to their level.
The staff at the Vineyards is great. The starter, the bag guys, the inside help… all great.
We DID NOT SEE A RANGER/PLAYER ASSISTANCE person during the 5 /12 hour round.
This is an honest review of this particular day so please take that into consideration. THIS IS NORMALLY A GREAT VENUE & A FUN TRACK TO PLAY.
Golf courses need to have holes punched in them. I did not notice any top dressing on the greens and they did not seem to be rolled to make putting more consistent.
Pace of play issues can be remedied by having a competent ranger that helps find lost golf balls for players and enforces the no mulligans/practice shot rule when the course is backed up.
No Grass in Fairways for $135 Means We Won’t Be Back
I understand that the area has experienced a very hot summer, but to charge $135 for dirt fairways is ridiculous. The greens were fine, but the cost should come down significantly or the course should be closed until grass grows back. Won’t be back for $135 when courses in the area are in much better shape for less.
Rain.
The course needs a lot of water.some fairways were bone dry.
Water me PLEASE
Drought conditions a factor. Very poor inc aeration holes throughout course. Greens bumpy too. Very forgiving landing zones.
Fairways
Fairways 1 - 14 in rough shape. 15 - 18 in great shape. Greens were punched recently but were still fast and smooth which required your complete attention when putting. Their trueness alowed me save my round with a few one putts.
Deplorable conditions
I was so disappointed in the conditions of the course. It was completely burnt out. The fairways were terrible as well as the tee boxes except for 17 and 18. Was not worth the senior rate of $79. Should have been reduced even further. Worst conditions of any course I have played this summer. I know it has been hard because of the drought but other course have
Dealt with it better. The place is beautiful and the amenities after are great. They are pouring a ton of money into fixing up the place but please spend some
Money to n the golf course ! So disappointed!
Atrocious conditions
Cow pasture fairways ,worst course conditions i have played maybe ever. Complete waste of money. I play over 90 rounds each year at many different courses. This DUMP should be closed until someone knows how to groom it.
