Huge Double Green Photo submitted by silkman111 on 11/11/2012
Everything was great
Tee boxes very nice. Fairways perfect. Greens 9/10. Lots of bunkers (mostly good shape). Only negative critique is no Large or XL men’s polo shirts in pro shop…only S,M, XXL, XXXL
Too expensive despite Course Rating
Only negative about the course is that about a third of the greens were burned and patched. Otherwise the Course is great. I’ve played LBI more than a dozen times but the price per round has gone up from about $85 per round to an average of $140. The reason the pace of play was so good is that many golfers are going to one of many other high quality Golf Courses in NJ. Not sure I’ll be back.
Not worth the price increase
They’ve increased the prices the past 3 years to the point where it’s absurd. The course is nice and the conditions are decent.. but $170 a round? Your course better be top tier if you’re changing those rates. The greens were slow and damaged, the sand traps were garbage. Again, I used to enjoy playing there and where the course was $90-100, the value was fine, but upping the price to $170 and basically nothing is different is absolutely wild. Just go to ocean acres down the road. Less than half the price and 80% of the upkeep. Better value
Great course
Course is amazing. Haven’t played it since it was still sea oaks. Still holds up. Price to play during week is pretty steep. If a didn’t get discounted rate from GolfNow, $60 off regular price, I would have else’s where. Love the course, great people, great shape. Need to lower week day prices
Nice Track / Breezy Outing
Nice track, you can tell they are in turn around mode. Some areas need additional attention like spotty rough or waste areas that were neither waste areas or bunkers. Greens were fast the day we played and the fairways were in excellent shape. It had been raining the day we played, but little or no standing water.
Refused Rain Check
We got in 7 holes and it started to rain pretty hard. They have a rain check policy that if you paid for 18 and can only finish 9 you get a rain check, But since we paid through Golf Now they refused to give us a rain check. They say they dont get paid for these ( we paid golf now roughly $210 and I know for a fact that the course got roughly $168 of the money). Really unsatisfactory experience. The kids who work there and the starters etc are great, but that was a real cheapskate approach to customer service.
LBI Golf
Definitely.a good value. Course was a little wet due to rain, but we had a good time, Certainly a longer course but it makes you think about your shots. Definitely a fun day.
Florida country club feel in the northeast
Played course after a week of rain, and it appears greens were recently aerated. With all of that and fairly windy day, the course as always, was a nice experience. I would visit again.
Great public course
Pulling up you realize this is not your average public course the layout is incredible. Greens were punched and still haven’t came back but I’ve seen them previously incredible I’ve played every south jersey course and always get excited to play Lbi national.
Almost There
Love the layout of the course, it’s tough. Greens had not recovered from aeration weeks ago and holes not filled. Fairways were in decent shape for April. Expect course will be in good condition soon.
