Hyatt Regency Long Island

The people running the place and some of the “members” seem to forget this is a public course and not a private club. For the price, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it. Greens are tough and some holes are strangely laid out. Staff doesn’t seem to care about any public players. There seems to be favorable treatment to members only. Members have weird entitlement with bully like attitude to non members. Cart girl went right past us without acknowledgment 3 times. Staff didn’t seem to care if we were there or not. Never experienced something like that on a golf course.

The staff, starter, was extremely friendly and welcoming. Picked our clubs up at the entrance and guided me through the process of checking in and where to find practice places. The course was in excellent condition and the play moved along nicely. Very enjoyable day.

Played a four hour round here and my group was stopped on multiple occasions to be scolded for our pace of play. The Marshall had an absolutely ridiculous attitude as well.

When I can get the right rate i choose this course, it’s always in fine condition and moves at a decent pace. It’s right off the Long Island expressway so easy to get to. Greens roll at a better than average speed but not too fast. They have a driving range and putting area.

As an average golfer I tend to look for 50 dollar rounds but once in a while I will splurge for the 100 plus here knowing the place will be in good shape.

Wind Watch was challenging yet fair for low to high handicap players. The greens were in great condition and slightly faster than most. They had a beverage cart running but didn’t have any water available on the course. I would recommend bringing water with you. Pace of play was good as we finished in four hours. Would recommend to others.

Friendly and courteous staff , played with a couple of members and had an enjoyable day .

I played this course many years ago. The greens appears improved. But fairways are the same.

Wished to enjoy scenery as I like to view surrounding, small ponds were little dirty that I kind disappointed. However, overall, it’s okay

very slow play, added an hour and 1/2.

No supervisor available to move slower parties.

Played this course many times. Teed off on a Saturday at 1:00 pm and we had 3 foursomes.

The front nine went along as usual on a weekend afternoon. The group in front of us seem to have some beginners but moved along fine. A 2 hour 15 minute front nine which was a very respectable for a Saturday afternoon. Then the back nine!!! We come to the 10th tee and the group in front of us suddenly has a five some. Wait what???!!! They all teed off on the 10th tee. So, I called the pro shop asking what’s going on. And the guy answering the phone sounded very surprised that there were a five some playing. However, after I made the call not one ranger or an employee came out to check what was going on. Like they knew but didn’t want to say they knew. Every time we reached the tee box, there they were. Five of them hitting 60 yard drives or into the woods!!! And on the greens, at least pick up the pace!!! Didn’t bother talking to the group as I don’t blame them. Instead it’s all on the course management for letting this happen!!!

$110 for an afternoon tee time and this happens???!!!

This place is so overpriced!!!

Nice Course. Lucky we got a tee time.

My only complaint is that there is nowhere to get something to eat. No restaurant, nothing in the clubhouse except for a snickers bar. The cart girl driving around had the small bag of Doritos. That's it. No more hot dogs, sandwiches, snacks?? Nothing. But they did have shots of whiskey for $19 each.

Maybe change that.
