All things considered
I always enjoy playing here. The greens were still a tad sandy and slow. The fairways were soft too. Considering we had an ice storm 3 weeks ago, not bad overall.
Except for the wind
The course was in great shape for late November. The only thing was something the course can not do anything about. The wind was just too strong for a good round but it was fun.
Great track
Considering it is now November, this course was in excellent shape! The staff were very friendly! Looking forward to playing here again soon!
Terrific option
I love coming to this course. It is always in great condition and a treat to play. Staff are amazing and helpful. Play there as much as I can.
A gem
Always in great shape and always a good test of golf. Pin placements can be tough especially on the par 5's. Little shelves on the greens which are generally large.
Great Course
Was awesome. Everyone was nice, the course is fantastic and the was a good day
One Of My Favorites!
I’ve had the pleasure of playing here five times this season and it has always been a pleasure. The course is excellently maintained. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are the BEST around!
The practice areas are in great shape, however upon arrival for this last round the range was closed for major maintenance.
They also have the best fleet of golf carts I’ve seen, perfect condition and clean.
The only negative thing I can say @ Hickory Sticks is I found it disappointing that they use frozen burger patties and fries in their dining room. The clubhouse is very nice, I expected everything to carry over into the dining room, which looked great and had friendly staff too. Every other course I’ve been too puts the extra effort into their basic foods too, hand made patties, fresh cut fries, etc...
I plan to definitely play at least three rounds here every year!
Great golf course!
The course is in beautiful shape and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and did everything they could to make our round enjoyable.
Big Boy Course
Always enjoy playing Hickory Stick as it has a great layout and size to play from plus 7000 yards. Playing this late in the year you expect the greens to be arreated but after 2 weeks greens were slow and top dressing made for challenging putting. But the course was in great shape and it was a pleasure to play. Looking forward to coming back next year.
That time of year
I like playing this course normally but now it is so wet, soft and aerated.
Seneca Hickory stick with the boys
Staff was great. Course was in very good condition. Price was a little high for residents of Lewistown.
Mixed staff
Great starter. Brutal talent at the till.
Hidden holes and elevated green offer a real challenge, bordering unfair.
Vg public
Challenging with very good conditions for a reasonable price
Thrilled
This course was highly rated, so I had high expectations, It exceeded expectations! From the greeting in the parking lot to the cart return. The conditioning, the layout, the challenge (tough, but very fair) I liked this course a lot. If it had a view of the Falls, or Lake Ontario, or something like that, it would easily make the Golf Magazine top 100 in America list. Can't wait to play it again!
At this rate best deal you can get for a great Golf course!
The course and the employees are first class! Everything is 5-star! Go there you will not be disappointed!
I love this course
We always enjoy playing here. The only negative was the pace slowed on the back nine. We were told at the start that they didn't have a lot of staff on course when it wasn't busy and no one to monitor the pace of play. The course was in great shape and scenic. Lewiston is a lovely town to visit.
Expectations high
I work at a 4 1/2star course in Florida. With the 'normal ' price for this course being considerably more than I paid, I as expecting a lot. It did not disappoint. It was my first time playing and while I played fairly well, I doubled two holes hitting good shots that I thought were hit where I wanted them to go, however I hadn't seen the water and fescue. Several blind shots that it would have helped to have better course knowledge.
