Friendly staff, awesome carts, great layout
Greeted by the guy in pro shop talked for 15 minutes very friendly guy, very cool carts, course was very wet but still in great condition when I went
Etowah golf
Course was in decent shape despite 2+ inches of recent rain. Bunkers unplayable.
Great course, 90% of the time it's cart parth only unfortunately.
Rough shape
Course was in rough shape and really wet. May try again in late spring.
Not Worth even the hot deals
This is the 2nd time I've played the course in the last two months, and granted it's "winter" time here in NC. That said, both times I've played the course it has been in MISERABLE condition considering they have another 9 holes that they have been "tuning up" for the last 2 months. Both times I had played I might as well have been playing mud golf. The fairways seem to have little drainage whatsoever, and it looked like the rough hadn't been cut in weeks. I legitimately lost a ball today in the "bunkers", which are really just small ponds, because they hadn't been drained or taken care of at all.
The worst part? It hadn't heavily rained for at least a week before I got on the course either time.
The Driving Range is neglected HEAVILY. It's been mat only since ~June and there has been zero effort to repair the grass boxes in front of the mats. Not to mention there have been multiple times I've gone to hit balls on a PERFECT day and the range would be CLOSED unexplainably.
Spend the extra $5-10 per round to play Cummings Cove instead if you're in the area; BY FAR a much better course that is EXTREMELY well taken care of.
Etowah Golf
Workers were on almost every hole blowing and cutting - annoying!
Etowah golf
Pace of play was slow, fairways and greens were good, traps and cartpaths need work.
Decent round
Great amenities, very pretty course, shame its only 9 holes
Course has drainage issues and slow play
This is the second time we have played here, and waited for a dry spell as it rained last time. The course was still sloshy in many areas, including fairways and over half of the bunkers. We played south then west, south pace of play was good, west was very, very slow - having to wait every single hole for 5-15 minutes. The course is nice, but needs some TLC. The staff is friendly, and I got a reduced rate via Golf Now - and the weather was wonderful! Will go back and try again, as there was some sign that they were working to improve the drainage issues that were on most holes. The cool thing is - you will likely see white squirrels.
Poor upper management & very poor underage staff who are not polite or understanding of hospitality & service to provide golfers
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Course is poorly maintained, I WOULD NEVER BE A MEMBER TO A COURSE THIS POORLY MAINTAINED with a boring course layout not well maintained at all with ignorant management & ignorant staff.
STAFF & MANAGEMENT FOLLOW NO RULES REGARDING COVID19 OR SOCIAL DISTANCING.
I'm not sure who is more unprofessional the Rangers & upper management or the multiple 12 year olds working on the course acting like children cursing & swearing & not polite or professional one bit on any golf course level.
I have lived in the area for years & every time I give ETOWAH A CHANCE, THE EXPERIENCE IS ALWAYS TERRIBLE ON MULTIPLE LEVELS.
POOR COURSE MAINTAINED
VERY POOR UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF WITH JUST AS POOR UPPER MANAGEMENT.
