A resort country club???
I've played here many times, on both the East and West courses, but only when there is hot pass because they are super overpriced. We played the West, a course where the turn is nowhere near the clubhouse. Not only was the cafe at the turn closed but we were not told this or we would've got food/drinks before teeing off. In addition, the water fountain at the turn was turned off in 94 degree heat so we couldn't even refill our water. And there were no water stations on the course and no beverage cart going around. Very poor planning
Always a great course choice
Either Grandover course is a great choice. Course is in great condition for start of the season, greens running true. Pace of play was great. Only issue with west course is you never know if halfway house is open for snacks or beverages, bring some extra.
Nice course
I played the west course in the morning and the east in the afternoon. My comment to the starter was “this place needs a starter”. This guy was a clown. The only thing worse was Sara in the pro shop. Completely rude and annoyed at checking people in . This job must be harder than it looks. The west course was in great shape and we played in 4.5 hours. The east course is the nicer of the 2 courses and the only complaint would be the amount of new construction. We played in 4.15. I paid $100 for the west and $60 for the replay on the east. $160 for these 2 rounds was a great bargain.
Gorgeous course. Had a great time.
Very professional staff. Great pro shop. Nice carts.
Course was in great shape. Pretty much everybody was held up at each tee box but we still got finished in four hours and five minutes.
I like to come try the east course next time
Amazing!
Course was amazing and had a record feel. We loved played the west course and loved it!
Grandover Resort West Course
Course is in great condition compared to other around the area this time of year.
Grandover Resort Experience,
Check in process was smooth, practice greens and range were good. Course layout is good and course conditions were the best compared to other courses in the area at this time of the year. Pace of play needs some improvement. While GPS said we are ahead of pace of play we have been waiting for every shot and was frustating.
Wet but great
Lots of rain the day before we played. Pace was a little slower due to cart path only but still good. Greens were fast
slick and angulating greens
Not for novice golfers. Interstate noise was annoying
Rushing the Season?
After a cold January and a wet February in Greensboro, I suppose I should not have been so surprised when I arrived at the course, as Grandover East is often busy. The upside was "we owned the course" and played with no one in front of us or behind us, so we made the best of the damp turf and occasionally hitting into bunkers (that had no sand/were under repair). We will definitely be back when things warm up. While I appreciate the ability reserve a tee time through GolfNow app, I'td be nice if there was an alert to let you know about course conditions, as each of drove an hour to get there.
Great course
The course was nice very. First time playing it. The staff was unbelievable nice. The banks were a little clay and muddy but it did rain the day before. Overall an awesome course and would recommend for experienced golfers
Beware
Anyone who gets suckered into playing at Grandover should consider other options in the area. The pro shop is staffed by high school kids who are untrained and unprofessional. My group began play and we were interrupted rudely by Grandover personnel. They drove into our group yelling because they claimed we didn’t pay enough?? Who does that in the middle of a round?? They began disabling our carts too. Where were we supposed to go? Drive the golf carts home?? Not providing a receipt was their first mistake. Unprofessional. Rude. Disappointing. I reached out to Grandover management and was ignored. The pro shop kids lied to protect their jobs.
so your gave the same review for both the east and the west courses… but stated them to have occurred a month apart. I hope your not the person who made physical threats to the staff by vowing to harm them physically. Thus grandover had to hire a security detail for a couple of weeks and staff them at the entrances!
