One of many great views. Photo submitted by u000002852979 on 05/29/2020
Great Experience
The course is in great shape as usual. The cart guys, staff and overall experience was top notch. The West Course is fun and with the drive to Greensboro.
Nice resort
Second time playing the course. An enjoyable, albeit slow day. There seemed to be some type of outing in front of us which brought on a 5-some. Being 2 we were backed up for most of the round, compounded by the turn.
Overall, a really nice course. Well maintained. Challenging mix of holes. I enjoyed it as did my playing partner who was visiting from Florida. I plan to be back.
Average at best
For the “best example of resort golf”, the course was extremely disappointing. Nice clubhouse, grilll. and nice but you need to out more effort into the course itself. Much sizzle. Very little steak. Dry and chewy.
A resort country club???
I've played here many times, on both the East and West courses, but only when there is hot pass because they are super overpriced. We played the West, a course where the turn is nowhere near the clubhouse. Not only was the cafe at the turn closed but we were not told this or we would've got food/drinks before teeing off. In addition, the water fountain at the turn was turned off in 94 degree heat so we couldn't even refill our water. And there were no water stations on the course and no beverage cart going around. Very poor planning
Always a great course choice
Either Grandover course is a great choice. Course is in great condition for start of the season, greens running true. Pace of play was great. Only issue with west course is you never know if halfway house is open for snacks or beverages, bring some extra.
Nice course
I played the west course in the morning and the east in the afternoon. My comment to the starter was “this place needs a starter”. This guy was a clown. The only thing worse was Sara in the pro shop. Completely rude and annoyed at checking people in . This job must be harder than it looks. The west course was in great shape and we played in 4.5 hours. The east course is the nicer of the 2 courses and the only complaint would be the amount of new construction. We played in 4.15. I paid $100 for the west and $60 for the replay on the east. $160 for these 2 rounds was a great bargain.
Gorgeous course. Had a great time.
Very professional staff. Great pro shop. Nice carts.
Course was in great shape. Pretty much everybody was held up at each tee box but we still got finished in four hours and five minutes.
I like to come try the east course next time
Amazing!
Course was amazing and had a record feel. We loved played the west course and loved it!
Grandover Resort West Course
Course is in great condition compared to other around the area this time of year.
Beware
There are a select few individuals staffing the pro shop who evidently have issues. Customer service is woefully lacking as I was charged then my round with my friends was very rudely interrupted by Grandover personnel yelling to immediately stop play. The ranger actually rode into my group yelling?!! Quite the embarrassment. The next day I received a phone call from “Mike” the golf director (?) who enthusiastically refused to listen to the circumstances and sided with his high school (unqualified) staff who charged inappropriately and did not present my receipt for the payment. Very poor and disappointing as well as disrespectful customer service. The arrogance of those kids is nauseating. I reached out to Grandover and was ignored. The golf staff lied to protect their jobs.
Prices gone wild !
I was afraid this would happen when Wyndham took over Grandover Resort! $100+ for a round of afternoon golf on a slow weekday! Like the Courses here but we’re done with Grandover. Sad
Green Fees Gone Wild !
Have played here regularly for many years. Love the place in fact. One of the primary reason I do is because its rarely ever busy/crowded during the week. HOWEVER, for some non-logical reason Grandover has implemented a varying Green Fee process that creates numerous different rate$ from hour to hour.. with the bulk of this greatly increasing prices, even on a slow weekday. In the past couple weeks I have seen rates of nearly $110 for slow afternoon tee times where the course was wide-open. You would think a low play course would decrease rates, not raise them!
I certainly hope the public understands they can change this policy simply by voicing thier opinions.
and by playing golf elsewhere until Grandover comes to its senses!
interesting that your blaming them for your actions!
I hope your not the person who threaten harm to the staff resulting in security being posted in the parking lot and golf shop entrants for several weeks!
