Great course, but greens had just been punched
Great course. Fantastic views and challenging holes. My ONLY COMPLAINT is that booked on Golfnow and there was no mention of greens being aerated a week before I played. Also, no discount on price. Very sad to drive two hours to play course and be told about greens. Even with all that, I highly recommend playing this course. Numerous elevation changes and great views of Smokey Mountains.
Awesome course
Greens were airrated but love playing it. Steep n tough course but I love a challenge.
Great condition
Sequoyah Nat'l was in excellent shape on 2-1-22. The fairways are dormant grass, but the ball sits up on top and makes it very playable. Greens we're decent too. Excellent value on GN.com, even though there was a very slow 4-some in front of me. It really helped that it was sunny and 57 degrees w/ very little wind. Really a fun day!
One of the best public courses in WNC
Course was in great shape for the middle of December. If only it was as affordable during the summer months, I’d play there all the time.
December 1st and golfing
Played on a Wednesday midday after a freeze delay. Sun was out and it warmed up nicely. No one in front of us. Played in under 3 hrs only because we had to look for a few lost balls.
Beautiful scenery
Beautiful golf course with breathtaking views. Took many pictures and videos of the course and mountain views. The tee boxes and fairways were prefect. The greens were fast which is the way I like them. You can keep your driver in your bag. Many dog legs and downhill holes. A lot of blind green shots. The course is very challenging if you are not familiar with the lay out. The course is not that difficult and requires a lot of layups. If you try to over power the course you are in for a long day. The course is shorter than the indicated yardage because many holes are down hill . I will play again .
Great course
First time to play the course since renovating...Course in great shape...Headed paying $25 for extra non golf rider..
Need a ranger to move folks along and get rid of the 5 player group a few groups ahead of us...Need a ranger
Fantastic Course
As mentioned in other reviews the driving range is irons only so no warmup with driver prior to tee off. Thankfully I made great contact and put the first tee shot in the fairway. There is a small chipping and putting green near the clubhouse. Also a nice putting green near the first tee.
Fairways were all in excellent condition and were nice to hit off. Greens were in great condition except for ball marks some players decided not to repair. Greens rolled true and had some challenging slopes on them.
The other players I was to be paired with did not show up so I joined a foursome for the first 2 holes. On the 3rd hole we were greeted by the Starter and I was told they do not allow more than 4 players per group so I would have to play by myself even though there were no players in front or behind us. We were easily keeping up the pace of play.
One of the carts in the foursome I was playing with broke down so they let me play through. A few holes later I caught up with a group. After waiting on them a few holes I the joined the threesome. The rest of the round was enjoyable and helpful after joining them since one of the players was a regular.
Front nine was a little more difficult than the back. Pace of play was good with 4 players but would have been a pain playing as a single on a course I had never played before. Ended up shooting 44 on the front with all the problems. Shot 36 on the back with 3 birdies including one of them on the last hole!
Just for reference I was playing the silver tees. Longer hitters may want to move back for more of a challenge. The silver tees were just right for my game. Round took 4 hours 5 minutes. Would play again if I'm in the area.
Wished I lived closer
This course is awesome. The people were great. I have nothing bad to say. If you want to play a course with spectacular views. This is it.
Very Rude Staff
Enjoyed the course. But, wow, what a rude and surely starter along with maintenance folks who keep barking “ninety degrees” (we were). Pace of play was far too slow.
True mountain golf
Played after 5 straight days of rain,. Course was overall in great shape. Test your carts brakes before you head out! Extreme hills up and down. If I had to point out one thing it would be the greens, some were inconsistent due to numerous old ball marks. Need to move hole locations more. Would 100% play again. Very unique course and even with cart it was taxing as the only flat land anywhere is the tee boxes. Incredible views and elevation change is off the chart
Challenging but fun with great mountain views
It's a challenging course with few blind tee shots. Greens and fairways were in excellent conditions. Staffs were also friendly and professional. Views toward Smoky Mountain ranges were awesome.
Great track
Course was soggy but no one's fault there... guys ahead of us were painfully slow but it being cart part only didn't help. No complaints whatsoever about the course just other golfers. Tip... play behind the group in front of you, not in front of the group behind you! I.e. don't lay on your belly reading putts for triple bogey.
Overall one of the most beautiful courses in the area. Tees, bunkers, greens, and fairways were gorgeous. Hat tip to the staff.
