I always enjoy Maggie!
I was matched up with two very great golfers and we had so much fun. I love meeting respectful golfers. It was such a fun day and the sun was shining..
Great day of golf!
Great course conditions for March in WNC! The greens were being aerated which is understandable for this time of year, but the fairways were in excellent shape. Played at a moderate to quick pace which was wonderful given how many other golfers were out there with us. A few soft spots were we lost some balls due to them plugging, but again that is expected in March. Great course!!!!!
Maggie in February
It’s not often we have a chance to play golf in the winter. Course is in great shape even with snow earlier in the week. Just a heads up, this time of the year everything is cart path only. If you want to help with the winter lbs. and be active this is the place.
Excellent course
This was probably the best course I have ever played. Beautiful course and scenery. The only issue We had was some of the pin locations were incorrect for the card which usually isn’t a problem for us but for someone unfamiliar with the course they don’t have any signs or anything on the card about the layout of each hole. And for a mountain course that can make it harder to play.
Great Course
This is a fun course that’s challenging yet had opportunities to score. The flat front nine is narrow but feels accessible. The rolling back nine never has a flat shot, but the course is in great shape so you can still score.
Friendly staff, great amenities. A great course!!
Only complaint is that the members (who are ALWAYS friendly) play slowly and sometime the lace can lag. But even teeing off at 1:30 we finished before sunset.
A must try if you’re in the area. Excellent course!
Maggie golf
Course is always in great shape. Staff is outstanding and helpful. Only complaint was slow play. Maybe a marshal speeding up play would be good. Can’t beat the fall color and beautiful mountains.
Maggie in the Fall
Course is in Great shape and ALWAYS love playing there. Beautiful mountain backdrop with the Fall leaves at near peak. Love the layout and very playable course.
Awesome course
It seemed like there were a lot of golfers before me however the pace was perfect. Great staff great layout.
Tricky & Fun
Excellent course with dramatically different two nines. Greens are tricky and tend to be well protected by well-placed bunkers. Gorgeous setting, with wonderful scenery.
Mountain course is indeed a mountain course. Shot placement is important - you'll shoot better your second and third times out; there is nothing to give you a sense of the layout of the holes ahead of time as the scorecard is just basic.
Very good golf carts that auto-brake - much needed on the mountain course. Don't be fooled by the valley 9; it has it's own challenges. The hole layouts/tee boxes are kind of odd; you can easily take a wrong turn. Would help to have improved/more hole signage. No ball washers - still playing the stupid Covid game.
Greens play slow unless they cut them closer the day of play. Took me several holes to realize how hard I had to whack my putts.
Had a blast and would definitely play again. Really good value if you get a discounted green fee.
Awesome Course.........most of the time
Staff was helpful and friendly, layout of course is nice. fairways great, recent aeration of greens made putting a non-issue. Seems the price should be lowered when greens are in this condition. The bunkers were well-kept and in good condition, Fairways nice, rough was just what a rough is suppose to be like. We saw two instances of more than 4 golfers at same hole, one had 5, one had 6, we left at hole 16 due to loud, slow group ahead of us taking way too much time and drag-racing thier golf carts. However, even with this, we realize what a nice facility this is. I can't to play it again with decent greeens and someone patrolling course to keep the party boys in line.
Maggie Valley Great Place
My wife and I stayed 3 nights on site in the resort condominiums which overlooks the course. The facilities were excellent and the views of the course, mountains and property were amazing. Our unit was on #10 fairway and was very clean and roomy. There was a lot of rain the day of our arrival. I was scheduled to play 2 days and 1 day was washed out. The 2nd day Cory the Asst Golf pro let me go off at 7:20 as a single and I finished 18 in 2 hours. As a 7 hdcp this course will provide you a lot of fun, some challenges and holes to remember. The course condition although cart paths only was superb. Fairways and greens were in pristine condition despite the rain and held well. Putting was a little slow but expected. The views were spectacular and the rate was very reasonable; $56 with cart on a Sat. The resort was great. Lisa in registration went above and beyond with our reservations, ensuring we had all we needed and even made our Biltmore Estates reservations. Mike in the Pin High Grille was awesome...and me being from KY he was a bourbon expert. He ensured our drinks and meals were outstanding. Make reservations and eat on the patio overlooking the course...can't miss location!! Besides Cory in the pro shop, Dalton the pro was great and assisted with my tee times. On the course and before teeing off, Paul & Scott ensured clubs were stored, cleaned and ready to go for the round of golf and offered great conversations. Having traveled the world to play golf and been a member at several other clubs, Maggie Valley resort and course is a definite must see and play. And the location in the western NC mountains is breathtaking...we can't wait to return for our next visit!! Steve Wright the GM was also right there to assist when I had some questions...Thank you staff and all you all did to make our visit AMAZING. ENJOY!!
Beautiful Mountain Golf
Unfortunately we were rained out on the day of the 20th when we were due to play. However we did plan on the 18th and it is an amazing course. The scenery is awesome and the course is in great shape. Well worth the money and staff is more than friendly. Highly recommend.
You have to like mountain courses
The course was in good to very good condition considering the extreme amount of rain in the past 30 days.
I have played this course 8 times and the staff never disappoints. Very courteous and helpful.
