Maggie valley impresses
Beautiful sight lines aside : the course layout abd conditions are both outstanding.
Best course in Maggie Valley
Course in a beautiful mountain valley. Layout can criss cross itself....many areas with unfilled divots and no repaired ball marks....weeds took over certain areas of the course...greens seemed to be in great shape ...course is beautiful but too many golfers crammed out on course.....bring your bug spray!!!
Definitely a four star course.
Great Conditions, Terrible Pace
We really enjoyed the layout of the course and the outstanding conditions. Unfortunately, pace of play ruined what could of been a great experience. It’s too bad because it wasted away what could of been a great day. I can’t recommend a course to anyone that allows a 3some to play at a 4 and a half hour pace. It might be a wise investment for this course to add a ranger to their staff and give him or her the power needed to enforce pace of play policies. One day golf courses will realize that it isn’t worth making the one slow group happy while ruining the round of the 8 groups behind them. The manager after the round didn’t seem to think 30 minutes over pace was too bad and didn’t seem to care much either. Beautiful course, great condition, excellent place to play if you’ve got all day to waste.
Pretty layout with quirky back nine
Teed off at 12:30 and finished in 3 1/2 hours. Course is pretty and in good shape as it runs down a valley with hills on both sides. The white tees which I played were carded at 6130 yards, but the set up was shorter. The green tees are only 4600 yards, so some women will want to move back on some holes. Holes 12 and 13 are pretty goofy, a 77 yard par 3 and 294 yard par 5 from the green. The back side plays up and down and there are some blind tee shots where it is easy to overshoot the fairway. Greens were in good shape and the staff was A1. Will play again tomorrow
Good value
Fairly tight layout . Many holes have condos on at least one side. Several tees had some weed infestation but greens were in very good condition although slower than I am used to. Overall, a pleasant experience at a good price for the middle of summer.
Holiday Golf
The course was extremely busy. They were running about 45 minutes behind on tee times. They ran out of carts so people were waiting on carts to come back in. A lot of it had to do with golfers asking for individual carts due to Covid concerns.
The course was in great condition, pace of play was ok. It was a great day for me and my son to go out and enjoy the game. I play this course at least once a week
Nice course, nice company
Spectacular views around the course. Played with two gentlemen from Waynesville who helped us navigate the course. Perfect day, great price, greens are difficult with certain pin placements, but course was in good condition considering all the play. Would recommend to friends and family.
Played alone so it was slow behind a foursome, but booking through golf now was easy. Staff was friendly. Course in great shape though it was cart path only. Would go again for sure. Greens were a bit slow because they were wet. That hurt my score a bit, but still managed an eight four. Had a great time!
Great Layout
Maggie Valley is a great mountain golf course in excellent conditions. The fairways are pristine and the greens are in amazing shape. The front nine is the valley nine with relatively little elevation change while the back nine creeps up the mountain and has much more up and down to it.
Very fun golf course for me because it offers a lot of opportunities for birdies if you execute your shots. But the course also has enough water hazards, dog legs, and character to it if you miss your shot or end up in the wrong spot bogey becomes a good score.
Nice course but Slow Round
This is one of the nicest golf courses that the public can play in Western North Carolina. We p;played it about four years ago and we have been waiting for the prices to come down. The course was overbooked when we played and our round was just under 5 hours. We waited several minutes at every tee box. They have new carts and our cart seemed to die around the turn at the pro shop and we had a hard time getting it going. One of the guys in front of us also had problems with his cart as well and I told him to take the key out and he got it going again. Very nice course if you don't mind the price and the crowd.
Great round
Course in great shape. Staff super friendly. We’ll be back!!
A Hot Deal Bargain
Writing this review about 6 weeks after the round but as always, if you get a hot deal for under $40, it’s always worth it. New greens on back nine have settled in nicely / no complaints. There was a frost delay but even after 20 minute delay, the ‘members’ aka locals, I believe, maybe there are actual members, I forgot, but they flew around and didn’t hold us up. Front nine has some interesting holes but mainly flat with a lot of flowing creeks to be aware of. Back nine is much more hilly. Overall, quality course with decent restaurant, driving range is literally a quarter mile up a hill, but again, book a hot deal for under $40 for maximum value. 35-45 min from Asheville, I’ll play it 3-4 times a year. No rangers or starters but I’ve never had a pace of play issue.
Quality Course
I am a beginning golfer (started playing this past summer) and this course is my favorite to play in the area. I have played every single course in Haywood County and many in surrounding counties and this course consistently impresses me. My only complaint is that the pricing fluctuates like crazy. I have received student discounts (college student) sometimes, and sometimes I haven't. I have played this course for as cheap as $25, or for as expensive as $60. Other than that, this course is great.
Fall day
Beautiful course especially during the fall. Little wet after the rain last night. Definitely going back there again beautiful course.
