Nice, picturesque course to play
I played this course with a buddy around 1 PM and had to wait a number of holes since the couple ahead of us were not hitting far, but thought they had to wait for the green to clear when they were 250 yds away and had driven the ball 150 yds regularly. Having to wait gave us time to enjoy the mountain views and chit chat. A ranger needs to occasionally monitor the pace of play for the golfers who do not like to wait on each shot and not have a rhythm of play. Many golfers feel they have to be just in front of the ones behind them instead of the group in front. When the course is packed a ranger should be making sure there are no open holes that 2 groups that are slow, let faster groups play through and let the 2 slow groups enjoy their slow pace that they paid money for not appreciate a ranger telling them to speed up their play.
A mountain gem
What a nice day at MV! Great staff who were friendly and wanting to help, beautiful course, and amazing views.
Could not have been a nicer experience.
Pace of play
Very slow. 4 1/2 hours plus. Ended up with three groups on #18. Twenty minute wait to tee off. Never saw a range all day??
This is a great course. Has valley on front and mountains on back. Greens were a little buyt overall it’s a great course
Maggie Valley Golf Course
The greens are very slow and that’s a shame for a nice golf course like this
Course nuances
It will take few rounds to learn the nuances of this course. First time playing without course knowledge showed in my score. Look forward to playing again.
Nice Course
Course was in great condition. Large smooth greens. Front 9 plays flat where back 9 plays as a mountain course. Overall good round.
Lay9ut
Front 9 was boring. Back 9 was interesting. Nothing special.
Price Review
Last July we booked a tee time for 3 golfers and were only able to complete 6 holes before a lightning delay. We were only given a rain check for 9 holes for 3 individual golfers good for 1 year. We booked a tee time online for 3 golfers on 06/13/24 and while checking in hopeful of playing all 18 holes we were quoted a price of 9 holes no charge to redeem our rain check and the additional 9 holes for $69 per person before taxes. We also asked about senior discounts and they do not offer this. We were told that they have dynamic pricing based on peek demand. Well $69 was not worth the value of playing your course. The rain check policy is not fair cheating us out of playing several of the holes! The previous day we played a far superior course at Sequoyah National and payed a senior rate that included range balls a a far superior experience. I do not plan on playing this course in the future. My money will be best spent elsewhere.
Slow pace!!
Crowed play with several groups in front and several groups behind us. Everyone was waiting on every hole to hit which really makes for a not so enjoyable experience.
Great course
Course was great. Greens rolled hood and was fast. Excellent shape
Definitely worth it!
Absolutely beautiful course. Only reason for the downstar was the restaurant was closed on Mondays. Had to survive on muffins, which were excellent. Definitely a must play!
$25 for a rider when not busy
I’m a disabled golfer ( keep up with pace of play just fine ) and this course was completely empty and they tried to charge me $25 for my mom to just ride. Original price of tee time was $42.
Hmmm...9 or 18?
My biggest issue was that when we showed up to play, we were informed that the front 9 was closed due to having been aerated. So our 18 holes consisted of playing the back 9 twice.
Nice course though, very pretty surroundings. the folks we talked too were all very nice.
Back 9 was tough as it was hillier with tricky greens. As a high handicapper, not my best round ever (that's as much on me as the course!).
