Beauty in the hard road !
Stopped in on our way back from the US Open @ Pinehurst .
11 AM tee time . Staff was great and gave us some yardage books as newbies. My daughters are advanced college golfers and as the round unfolded the amount of blind shots and surprises rivaled the incredible beauty of the track .
Highly recommend playing this for the experience of the elevation changes and rare beauty. A bit more detailed yardage book aside, this is one you could only truly evaluate if you played it several times .
As the saying goes “Old Beau Knows” (how to surprise you!)
😊
Very nice course. What a challenge the elevation changes made. The ups and downs was lots of fun. We stayed overnight on the grounds. Very nice resort.
Great mountain course with some amazing views
course in great shape except the greens which still had evidence of previous aeration. Back 9 much more difficult than the front. Would definitely play this again if I'm back in the area and would recommend the course to anyone who hasn't played here before.
Beautiful course.
Beautiful course and peaceful. Just wished the pro shop was open a little later.
Nice, but TOUGH
Quite a golf course. Starts out hilly and gets steeper and steeper. By the end, I felt like I was hiking the Appalachian Trail. Beautiful views throughout. One disappointment, though. I realize that maintenance needs to be done, but I think it's only fair to notify golfers when the greens have been aerified and sanded. These putted terribly. I think the course would have been impossible with really quick greens, but these were slow and irregularly bumpy. Still a very nice, if exhausting, round.
Beautiful, fun, and difficult
A mountain golf challenge with many hills, blind shots and challenging greens to hit. I believe the course is rated below its challenge level. Overall it a a great challenge with beautiful views. One of my favorite courses.
Stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains
The course is very challenging when playing for the first time, with many blind shots and shots from different elevations. Very scenic and a good bang for the buck.
Great condition
The fairways and greens were nice a green. The course is always in great shape. Will be back again
Great course
My friends and I really enjoyed it and would recommend anyone to play there! The layout was really good and the greens looked and played nice.
Heaven on Earth
This course has an incredibly picturesque layout. It's tons of fun and there are so many breathtaking corners. Very challenging with thought provoking elevation changes forcing you to be accurate and long. Greens felt like tight yoga mats. Super relaxed pace of play with groups being well spaced even on a Sunday. 10/10 - would recommend for anyone who really enjoys the game and an fulfilling day.
Incredible beauty !
I've played a few mountain courses before and this course is far and away the best and most enjoyable ! The course was in great shape tee to green! The scenery was incredible ! Bring extra golf balls ! I'm a 14 handicap and this course is hard to break 90 for me. We had 5 of us playing and I know all of us will be back again for sure ! A great 60th birthday for me !
Great Course
The course is in the excellent shape so early this season.
Ole Beau is a very good course, and has some great views of the mountains
Great Time
Whenever we get a chance to go to Olde Beau it is a real treat. Golf course is great and the calming effect of being in the mountains and the great views make your bad shots not seem so bad. Love Olde Beau!
New place.
Other than the price and amount of construction the course is nice and tough.
