About Springdale at Cold Mountain
Springdale at Cold Mountain has been bolstered in 2021 with a new clubhouse, which is the lifeblood of the resort's "Village at Springdale", which is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is home to the Rocky Face Tavern, a welcome center, fitness center and outdoor pool. An old stone patio and outdoor fireplace are gathering spots in summer. Guests can choose from 18 different villas, homes, townhomes and cottages to rent. The 6,865-yard course has also been recently renovated.Facts

Excellent place all around .Course was excellent and had dinner after. great food and service.
Great course
I get the chance to ride up and play Springdale about once a year. Today was the day and it did not disappoint. Prices have gone up over the years. And they are charging $135 on weekends now. I don’t know that I’d pay that. But Mondays and Tuesdays they are charging $65 and I got a hot deal on golf now for a little less than that. At that price point it is a great value. The course is a great layout with beautiful views and in good shape. It is a challenging layout and quite long from the white tees. The rough is thick and pretty tough. Especially right around the greens. You miss the green by a step and it’s in some thick rough and a tough up and down. The fairways are good with only a few bad spots here and there. Tees are great and greens are super smooth. Though maybe a touch slower than I remembered. They were quite firm. I wasn’t a fan of the sand. The bunkers had a lot of sand in them and it was pretty heavy. But it looked good.
1 is a tough opening tee shot you have to hit a fade down the hill. A draw or even straight on the hard dogleg right leaves you a long way from the hole. But it is beautiful view from the tee box. 2 is a long straight par 4 with a slightly elevated green. 3 is a medium length par 3. Uphill with a deep green. The green is 2 tiered and you need to be on the right tier to have a chance to make the putt. 4 is a short par 4 with a downhill tee shot. Most people will hit less than driver here to take the small pond short and left out of play. 5 is a shorter flat dogleg left par 5. A very scoreable hole. 6 is a tough long dogleg left par 4. A small pond sits on the left and is blind from the tee as is the green. 7 is a shorter par 4 but plays steeply uphill. Making it play longer. 8 is a long slightly downhill par 3. About 190 from the white tee with a small target. 9 is a shorter par 5. On your second shot there is a small creek blind from the fairway at the bottom of the hill about 75 yards out. 10 is a longer par 5. The creek bisects the fairway and could be an issue off the tee. 11 is a longer par 4. You need at hit a fade here. Tee shot is downhill. Approach is back uphill over the creek. 12 is a medium length par 3. But there isn’t a lot of room to miss. 13 is the signature “Springdale Spasm”. Long and tough from the white tee with an uphill double dogleg. You need to be just left of the fairway bunker. Right of that is dead. But too far left is really long. The creek bisects the fairway on the long uphill approach. 14 is a long dogleg left par 4. If you can hit a draw you can catch a break and get a roll down the hill for a short approach. If not you’ll have a steep downhill approach. 15 is a long uphill par 4. Plays really long. 16 is a really long par 4 but plays way down hill. Approach is over another creek area. 17 is a medium length par 3. And 18 is a beautiful par 5. You will have to decide which side of the creek to lay up on based on your drive. The greens are generally pretty flat with subtle breaks that are tough to see. Overall it’s a wonderful course and well worth a play. Especially on the early week rates or with a hot deal.
Haven’t played Springdale in along time, but the improvements are amazing
First class course, employees, and amenities. Clubhouse and surrounding areas are top notch. Very friendly staff and golf pro. Greens and fairways were basically perfect! Would recommend to anyone near Asheville or Waynesville to get out there. It’s well worth the drive/money.
Very nice setting
Perfectly hot day but plenty of shade on the course. Picked up lunch on the turn. 4 hr round. All great

This course is impeccable condition, considering the amount of play that it gets. I wish some of these idiot golfers would repair their golf marks on the greens and it would be even more superior. The quality of this course is a great value.
Springdale CC

Off the beaten trail
Rewarding experience all around for a mountain course 35 min from Asheville NC
Mtn golf converter
The staff was absolutely fantastic and very helpful. We’ve played the course 4 times now and have enjoyed every minute. It’s has become our favorite mtn course at an economical price. Please keep it affordable.
The grill and tavern serve excellent food and service.
Perfect Spot for Mtn Golf
Love playing this course. Great conditions with scenic views!
A+
For the price and what you get, one of the best courses around Asheville.
There was a gokf group of 30 some people infront of me that they never told me about. I had a 10 am tee time and was there ion time, but the group was already there and the starter let them go first. 2.5 hours later and only playing 4 holes played. Very very slow pace started to rain so I left.
Best course in Haywood County
Definitely my favorite course in Haywood County. Great layout, conditions, staff, etc.
