About Springdale at Cold Mountain
Springdale at Cold Mountain has been bolstered in 2021 with a new clubhouse, which is the lifeblood of the resort's "Village at Springdale", which is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is home to the Rocky Face Tavern, a welcome center, fitness center and outdoor pool. An old stone patio and outdoor fireplace are gathering spots in summer. Guests can choose from 18 different villas, homes, townhomes and cottages to rent. The 6,865-yard course has also been recently renovated.Facts

great mountain golf
This course is worth the drive. Scenic vistas, alot of course. cushy fairways, nice greens. In better shape than other area courses. I will play it again when in the area.
5-somes allowed!
Since the club allows 5-somes (as I was told in the pro-shop at the turn) there were about five 2-somes stacked up before me as a single.
It sure makes for slow play - won't expose myself to that risk again!
Springdale
Course was in pretty good shape considering they had recently areated the greens. Some areas were a little rough but we've had excessive rain this year. Was in good shape other than this
Course
I have played this course before and now it was in bad shape. Understanding they are revamping the course but should let people now before booking. Tee boxes in farway, mudding holes, cart paths need extreme repair. Very disappointed
Work in progress
Played the soon to be Front 9 and the layout was nice. The only knock would be all the new sod that is getting put in but that can't be helped. Once the new sod grows in and the greens have recovered from iteration then this course should play pretty nicely. Staff was outstanding and will definitely play it again when I'm in the area.
Diamond still rough, but shows progress
Springdale CC is beautiful tract of land & the new family owners have projects ongoing ll over he course. Greens were just top dressed, but were smooth & are large!. Fairways are greening nicely & all the traps have fine, soft, white sand in very ood shape. ( many needed raking).Work is ongoing on new cart paths and new sod around traps & some walkways. Work ontinues oncthe restaurant, sched.to open late April. (probably not). I will be back, as this gem will get better and better.
Best kept secret in the county
Love this golf course even though it beats me like a drum every time I've played it. Have been playing here long enough to have gone from the Blues, to the whites and now the senior tees. 25 years has taken its toll on this old duffer, but I'm determined to get back into the 80s again. Great staff and the new owners are obviously dedicated to making this course what it used to be and even better.
Highly recommend for the challenge and the scenery.
Great course
New owners making huge strides to improvements, friendly staff. Say "Hello" to Wendy in the pub room...good food and and a good selection of beverages. Course is showing signs of caring owners with a vision of how this course will bring golfers from near and far.
Great track
New management making extraordinary changes to the course, dining, and club house amenities. Friendly staff, good selection of accessories and the food is great! Kudos to Kim for a great panini press sandwich!
Diamond in the rough
The new owners are very friendly and approachable. Plans are improvements are already underway. That being said, the course is beautiful and challenging. For late November the fairways were in good shape and the greens were very consistant.
Fun, and challenging
Visiting in town, had played a couple of other local courses and decided to try this one on our last day in town. Very glad we did. Even though it was chilly, it warmed up nicely after a few holes. The back nine was cart path only so that kinda sucked but we loved this course for the views, layout, challenges and overall enjoyment of playing a hilly course. Staff was friendly and we may not have had great scores but we had a fun day of golf.
Mountain
Beautiful course. It is in good condition. I liked it.
Ok mountain vourse
Greens were so slow made it difficult to enjoy.
Don't know if that was due to wet weather and they couldn't cut.
Couple of holes don't make sense. If you are first time player you have no idea where to hit tee shots.
Always enjoy the Course
The greens were bumpy and the fairways were thin...but I love the course...The Course is challenging for us seniors that can still break 90 6441 yds (vs 5744)....it would be nice if there were 6k options
Mountain
The course is gorgeous and in good condition. The greens are pristine and run fast. The beauty of this course is remarkable, great vistas on almost every hole. The fairways are good but are a bit grass thin on a few holes. One needs gps to find this course, but well worth it. It is about 40 minutes from Asheville.
