Always in great shape
It is my local go to course when i cant play on my home course. Conditions have improved all summer. Yesterday on 17...course ambassador comes out to thank us for coming out to play. Classy!
Sub 4 hour round if you get out early...cant beat it.
Most Overpriced Course In Charlotte
The most over priced poor value in Charlotte. Fairways too close together. Nice amenities.
GREAT golf spot!
First time playing based on reviews from others. It is a top notch country club feel but for half the price and its private. Range is very good and nice touch to have a fully stocked snack shop right before you tee off. People there are VERY friendly. We ate dinner after at the restaraunt and it was outstanding! I will for sure be back. The course was decent shape. Greens are very fast, does not hold water well and the mowers had just left clippings all over and we had a 1pm tee time. Overall great experiences though and will for sure be back
The best public course in Charlotte
I played this course today for the first time. The course is in fabulous condition and pace of play was great. We played in under 4 hours and never waited to hit a shot. Sand traps are in excellent condition. The greens were very good and exceptional compared to any public course I have played around Charlotte. The fairways were excellent and rough well maintained as to where it was difficult and fair. I really liked the course and have heard many times this is Charlotte’s best public course. After playing it today I understand why I hear this from many golfers. If you have not played this course and enjoy good quality golf you need to spend the time and money to play this course. Very enjoyable day!
Its ok but ive seen a lot better for cheaper price.
First off the staff was friendly upon arriving. And at the huts, and beverage carts. The layout is very fair and a true golf course ...HOWEVER..... the greens are very bumpy and the bunkers are horrible, you must chip out of the bunkers they are really just for looks and you cant play the blast shot with spin out of them MOST of them desperately need sand def werent freshly raked at all you could either putt or chip out of them. Several tee boxes are very worn and in poor shape. Fairways are great except the closer you got to the green the soggier the turf was which made chipping tough. My worst thought of this place was the workers!!!!! They refuse to respect any players around...for over 6 holes i was followed by at least 4 to 6 workers , mowers, jet dryers ect no reguard to the players what so ever. Even had a few drive and stop bout 100 yards in front of me without moving along or anything. This was extremely annoying especially with the jet dryers and several times around the greens getting blasted with dry grass and not to mention even stopping or anything to chip or putt....for the money i expected more and better conditions. But staff was great.
Course in very nice shape
The course is back to being in great condition. A few years ago it was very disappointing but now I would recommend it again. I had the 1st tee time so pace was great. But it can be VERY, VERY slow.
Great course
Great course. Greens little bumpy because of being punched recently.
Not worth it
The course is not in very good condition. A lot of bare spots on the fairway. Several times I had to move my ball so I wasn't hitting off of mud. You can play courses in and around Charlotte for half the price that are nicer.
Nice Course
Great, fun course. Course recently aerated; however still played well. Nice views and staff was very accommodating. Highly recommend.
Excellent condition
Wonderful course. Great experience. Look forward to playing again.
Orange scented towel
Impeccable timing with the orange scented cold wet towel at the turn . Right after I got an Arnold Palmer on ice. Greens were faster than I'm used to, but I'm told they get faster!!! Fantastic conditions. Well worth the money
Slow play
5 and a half hours for 18 holes. We waited on every shot. There were groups of 4, 3 and 2. No ranger and it took forever. Would not recommend unless you have a lot of time to waste.
Good course
Good course probably best public one in Charlotte. Even with all the rain fairways were great and nice greens
Great Course, Wonderful Conditions.
Hadn’t played here in years, course was in spectacular shape. Carts come with towels and tees and a cooler with ice (rare for a public course in charlotte). The food is very good albeit a bit pricey, but hey, it’s Ballantyne. Staff was friendly and cart girl was around multiple times. I will be back very soon.
Good condition but played shirt
Many tee boxes are under repair causing long or short conditions with the course playing a little shorter than usual. Fairways and greens are in fantastic conditiion as usual.
Ballantyne Hotel Club is one of the greatest course I play at
