About Winstar World Casino and Resort
The WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville started as a bingo hall on the Texas-Oklahoma border in 1991 but has grown into the largest casino resort in the world. Nowhere else features a larger collection of electronic games – more than 8,100, plus 100 table games, a 55-table poker room, bingo and more. The 1,399-room hotel complex houses 19 restaurants and 12 bars, a spa and shopping. The 36-hole WinStar Golf Club includes a state-of-the-art golf academy. Both the Scissortail and Redbud courses were expanded to 18 holes in 2017 by D.A. Weibring, a five-time winner on the PGA Tour. The 3,500 Global Event Center regularly showcases big events.Facts

Excellent course
If I could give the course conditions a 4.7 I would. There were large grains of sand that affected our putting. Other than that the course was in absolute pristine condition.
Better than expected
The amenities and staff friendliness were country club-esque. Staff bringing the golf cart out to me when I parked was a nice touch. Green speed was perfect and course was in pretty good chaos for being mid July.
Another great time at Winstar
Staff is amazing... Bottled water is supplied... Social distancing and masks in use... Course in very good shape.. Played Redbird... Saw the cart girls atleast 6 times during round.... Had a fun round!!
Great Course, Great People!
This was the first time I played at Winstar (played the Scissortail course).I was greeted with great customer service before I ever got out of my car! From putting my bag onto the cart, to checking in, to the friendly cart girls, everything was great! I agree with other reviewers though - you better keep your balls in the fairway, because 5-10 yards on either side puts you in the high, thick, rough...Will definitely return
WSRB
Resort golf, you will not be disappointed. Fast electric carts with GPS, turf was good from tee box to green and they had curbs at the tee boxes and the greens to keep you from driving up on the grass. Top notch place, I would play it again and I do recommend it.
LEGIT GOLF COURSE
This is one of the best courses around the area. I play all over North Texas but my home course is Tanglewood! This is by far the best course to play if you don’t mind the drive! I’m a +10 handicap and enjoyed the layout! Well worth it...!
Win star golf
Very good links course with plenty of room . Still young course which is developing.
Golf + Home of the Largest Casino
Easy drive, 70 miles, from the DFW airport to 36 fun, challenging golf holes + great, large, clean Casino. World Class entertainment. Home of THE WORLD LDA, Long Drive, CHAMPIONSHIP. Golf course was fun to play. Everything was right in front of you. Great golf Academy. Great dollar value!
Enjoyed the course
Played Scissortail for the first time and we really enjoyed it. Being an Elite card member of WinStar it was free so obviously you can't beat free. The course has some difficult rough in places and the tees, fairways and greens were all in good shape. I highly recommend this course but bring a few extra balls just in case you hit that high grass.
Prepare to lose the most balls.
I’ve played golf for the sixth time today. BUT I’ve lost more balls then I have in all other five outings combined! Considering I’m better than all the previous times that’s pretty absurd. Also have found over 15 balls today looking for mine within 5 ft of the putter rough. Which is again, more balls than I’ve found in all other five outings. To sum it up with one word, disappointing. Won’t upload my image of the grass obove my knee. Which was over two feet high only 10 feet off the fairway. Ridiculous!
Must Play course
We took a golf trip to North Texas but decided to start at Winstar. The only negative was they were redoing the bunkers on Redbud and we could not play it. This is a Wonderful Resort. Everything is Top Notch. We got there at a little after 7am for a 8:00 tee time. We paid our green fees then ordered Breakfast. The chef was late to work, the young lady that waited on us was amazing. She took our order and made the breakfast items for us. My only regret was that I don't remember her name. The food was great and started the day perfectly.
Did I state you have to play this course if you are in the area.
Just Say No
Meander through characterless wide open, treeless pastures with waste bunkers mistaken for dried creek beds to terminate to decent bermuda greens.
Our group considered leaving after the first nine, starring in disbelief at the overpayment and experience at hand. It would be considered by most a $40-50 weekend course you might play if you had no other options within an hours drive.
Life is short so make your golfing experiences meaningful and worthy of your invested time and money.
First Class Facility
I had the privilege of playing the WinStar golf course during the 2016 World Long Drive Championship. The course routing was not traditional due to the championship but I could not have had a better experience. The clubhouse staff was excellent, setting me up with quality Callaway rental clubs and walking us through the course re-routing. I can't tell you how nice the greens are at WinStar, the best i've ever played. Looking forward to my next trip to WinStar.
Fairways and Sandtraps
Poor sand and too much sand in some traps. Balls that would roll into traps should work their way down...NOT HERE! Fairways in poor shape, maybe it's the time of the year? I'm from the Chicago area and our fairways are awesome!
