About Winstar World Casino and Resort
The WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville started as a bingo hall on the Texas-Oklahoma border in 1991 but has grown into the largest casino resort in the world. The 1,399-room hotel complex houses 19 restaurants and 12 bars, a spa and shopping. The 36-hole WinStar Golf Club includes a state-of-the-art golf academy. Both the Scissortail and Redbud courses were expanded to 18 holes in 2017 by D.A. Weibring, a five-time winner on the PGA Tour. The 3,500 Global Event Center regularly showcases big events.Facts

Underwhelming
The tee boxes and fairways were the length of rough. The greens didn’t roll true as they was new sod randomly placed on almost every green. Played last year around the same time and it was in MUCH better shape. Just disappointing. The clubhouse has been closed for over a year now.
Nice Course
Nice escape from the casino.
High rough and fall leaves made it almost impossible to find your ball if you missed the fairway.
Under Repair
Though still under repair course was in decent shape. Great value will play again!
Beautiful Day
The weather was perfect if you are okay with the heat Friendly staff, great carts and beautiful course Looking forward to playing at this course again..
Thursday afternoon Sunshine
No tee time, just walked up, senior discount, players club discount made it inexpensive. Weather was really hot and dry. and we played late in the day (start at 4pm) cool water in the cart at the start and several places along the route. several of the greens and fairways are still showing signs of the weather stress of the last year. Other that that the course looked really great. .
Expected More for a casino
Let's start at the beginning...Pro shop is relocated in a trailer. The bathrooms were extremely nice!
We had to start at the 10th hole due to maintenance. Didn't know that they were repairing the course along the way. Very patchy along the fairways, especially on the green. If this was known, I don't believe we would've booked. Staff was nice but they ran out of a lot of the food in the outdoor trailer. I.e. no chips, no French fries, etc. Wish a review would've said these things so it could give everyone a heads up of what's to come.
Course under repair
Great course I absolutely love it and played multiple times. However right now there’s a bunch of ground under repair and the usual issues with super hot weather and greens. A couple the tee boxes on the back were tore up make an a par four and a par three. There was a very slow foursome in front of us and I called the clubhouse and they were able to get them moving faster which I thought was awesome. Again I love this course just right now It needs some time
Good price for Winstar
Their offering great deals at 4:00. It’s hot but worth it!!
Good times
Course under renovation. Still had a great time. Looking forward to comin back soon
Good layout of holes
Have here before and it was in great condition, but not this round.. Several greens in bad condition, and some fairways , with dead grass in farirways and greens.. I know they are working to improve one course Redbud, We played sissortail and it will be upgraded 2022 , but until then a little pricey for comdition.
Need to Sod/Reseed Grass on Fairways and Greens
The front 9 is in better shape than the back 9. But around 6 greens and 11 fairways need sod or reseeded to replace the dead grass. What grass they do have is in good shape. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner(s) just need to provide the course with some money to get it back in shape. Sad to see a good course like this in this shape.
Potpourri
Pro shop staff was friendly; good deals exist on divot repair tools, certain caps, & ball markers!
The clubhouse is under construction so the pro shop is in a trailer & bathrooms near the pro shop are luxuriously portable.
The restroom on the back nine (between #13 & #14) smelled of potpourri!
Several greens (I recall 6, 9, 11-12, 18) & fairways sustained damage since the last time I was here last August. The black/blue/white/probably gold tees were all moved up to the red tee area on #12.
The amount of $ I paid was after discounts and taxes.
Scissortail
The fairways are lush and cut better than some greens I play on. The greens are needing some work but are still very good. Best round I’ve had in sometime. I can’t wait to play other course, Rosebud.
Great Course
Great course. Stay in the fairway though. Will definitely be back soon.
