Worth an annual trek to the mountain
On a hotdeal this works but at regular rates.... not so much. Has to be tough conditions to keep a course in top shape with the year round weather so you can't expect a perfectly maintained course.... and it isn't. Greens are slow and bumpy. Traps are below average. Aprons are a mess and the fairways are extremely bumpy but it is a beautiful place to spend the day.
LAZY STAFF - NO INTEREST IN GOLFERS
We play this course a couple of times each year and always look forward to the next Tee Time. We brought guest from NM and looked forward to sharing what has always been a great golfing experience.
The Mallard Room was having the roof repaired, so it and all amities were closed. The course looked like a hay field, it was mowed long and grass left. Maintenance crews had not been maintaining the course.
It was 93 degrees, at the turn we visited the pro shop, no restrooms, HOT porta-pots out doors, no water to dip towels or wash balls. Indoors it was difficult to pull the 3 mature men away from the competition on the TV. When asked if they had any ice, they mentioned The restaurant being closed but ice was down the street. The cooler for cold drinks had WARM Gatorade, I pulled from the back thinking the new was stock at the front of the cooler ... the 3 LAZY men offered that they had just filled the cooler, it must have been during a commercial. My only thought is, without the restaurant no one cares about the course. Small gestures of "we appreciate you business" such as cooler with ice and water, water bucket etc would have been appreciated. We will think twice before making the drive to Welches to golf when there are so many good coursed to choose from.
Great hidden gem
Enjoyed my day at the resort at the mountain. Both Pinehollow and Thistle courses were very well manicured. Foxglove had some issues with some greens and tea boxes but overall was in good condition. Really enjoyed this course and it’s usually not packed so pace is great.
Far from its best
According to staff, tough winter (5 months of snow) at the Resort Course of Mt Hood?
Course needs maintained
Greens were full of debris, t boxes were overgrown, fairways needed mowed with the grass trimmings picked up.
Nice Course
Beautiful course. Was pretty soggy all around but not enough to ruin it for us. Will definitely go back!
Great time!
It was a great day of golf, course is always beautiful I feel bad though for it because it doesn’t get enough sun, the greens were extremely rough but I expect that this time of year. But the rates were spot on and I play it again any day.
Help
This place needs help. Terrible greens looks like they didn't sand and plug this spring.
Atrocious Greens
Putting on a pebble strewn parking lot would have been a more enjoyable experience. Not one of the greens putted true nor did any of them have a consistent roll. Balls dodged left and right from hitting moguls on their way to the hole.
The course was so soggy that drives were plugging in the fairways.
The course was cart path only, which was good because we would have needed a tow truck to pull the cart out of the muck.
The views are exceptional and it is a beautifully wooded course.
I'll come play again when the course dries out.
What happened to the resort at the mountain?
What used to be a well-maintained manicured course, has turned into a very subpar course as far as the grounds themselves. Now I understand why there were only five cars in the parking lot with 27 picturesque golf holes to play! The course is not in very good condition from the greens to the unkept areas, it was sad more than anything else! Definitely not the resort golf I remember.
Worth the drive!
It was a beautiful day great course the price was awesome, a little bit soft in places but I would expect that after all the rains we’ve had. Everything was great from the staff at check-in to the course and of course the company was by far none. A great day for golf for sure. We will be back, keep the coupons coming!
Fall golf in the mountains.
The course was in really good shape considering the amount of rain we had. Only had a couple of holes where you can really tell, but overall it was in very good condition. It’s a beautiful course in the mountains, lots of scenic views, clubhouse personnel was very nice. Is a definite do over for sure especially at the rate we got. All the encores golf amenities were closed and the course was pretty wide-open and I understand not having much else open but the course. We will be back for sure!
Not worth the money
Cool course, and not crowded, but very over watered and expensive for that kind of condition. I would have expected a much nicer condition at that price. I won’t be coming back unless they cut the price in half. Also, the drive out there was nice due to being early in the morning, but the drive back through Portland sucked! …long and full of traffic.
3 nines course
We played Pinecone & Thistle. Both were in pretty good shape considering the amount of hot weather we've had. Fairways had some bare spots, but the greens were much better than I expected. We will play here again.
