A Gem in Klamath Falls
This golf course is one of the most beautiful we have played. My wife and I take our clubs with us on driving trips and search the Internet for courses at the places we stop. Sometimes we find great ones, and this one is near the top of the list.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the value for the price is excellent. I highly recommend this course.
We did not stay at the resort but definitely would if we ever get back to Klamath Falls. If you prefer a quiet, out of town resort, you will like Runnig Y Ranch.
Greens true, fairways forgiving
Played early morning by myself, done in 3 hours! Played green box. Nice variety of hples
Great course!!!
I've lived an hour away and have missed out on a rare gem in southern Oregon. Almost every hole could be a signature hole.. I could not stop taking pictures! The greens were fast and true. And the course overall was in tournament condition! I can't say I was very impressed with my score.. But no worries... I will redeem myself with one of the many future rounds I will be playing!
All hail the KING!!!
One of my best golf rounds ever
It helped that it was perfect weather - sunny with a light breeze - and that I was playing some of my best golf in years, but the course is tremendous. It is not the most difficult course in the world, but it has some fair challenges. (If you want very difficult, play from the Arnold Palmer tees - way, way back.) I could say something good about almost every hole. Two stand out: The ninth hole offers a thrilling downhill tee shot. The tee on the 16th hole offers one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. On pace of play, we played behind one group that moved promptly and very seldom slowed us down, and no one was behind us. I hope my positive review does not cause lots more people to play.
This course is very diverse
My buddy and I decided to make the trip to Klamath Falls after becoming overly tired of the same old courses in Medford. We couldn't have made a better decision. This course had a lot of different holes. Hole 9 was awesome! The down slope of that fairway is real! My driver was a little shakey all day so I went with a 4 iron and had a 40 yard chip shot left. If you haven't played this Arnold Palmer designed course, I recommend you do so!
Spectacular experience!
Beautiful course, with creativity and uniqueness evident on each of the 18 holes. The course winds gently through the terrain utilizing the mountains slopes and altitudes. The greens are well maintained and fast! A wonderful experience which we plan on repeating!
Great time with great friends
Loved the course and the time spent at Running Y. Spent 3 days in the area and played Running Y twice.
Perfect Day of Golf
We had an afternoon tee time of 3 pm. Slight breeze made a perfect sunshine mix. Course is in Beautiful condition and with the wildlife to be viewed .makes the golf all the better. Wish we had a couple more days here! We will be back.
Great time
Course was great for time of year, staff was one of best we have had freindly and interested in you as golf's herer to play the course. Great time and weather great also. Thanks to all.
Beautiful layout, lake views, open area, forest play
Stayed at RunningY for the week with family, got to to play one day and unfortunely the weather wasn't the best. The course was surprisingly in go shape for first week of April, greens were slow but it,s to early to cut and roll. I would love to stay on a golf vacation for 3 or 4 days in the summer.
This course really has great features and very well designed, gotta play it to see what I meant.
Very Nice golf course to play in and golf cart is really a must. Huge greens but fast, really hard for a first time play. I think it's comparable to a link style golfing.
Palmer's Legacy in Oregon
Arnold Palmer should be proud of the work he did at Running Y. A good test of ones complete game.
Frost delay which is not the pro shops problem but i had the first tee time and I called one hour early they told me around 10 AM, I called again at 9
There was a frost delay which is not under the pro Shop Control I called one hour prior to my tee time 8:40 and was told around 10 AM. I called again @ 9 AM and they said 10 AM again. I showed up at 9:50 AM and they had let 5 groups out in front of me and I was a single so I had to play through the five groups which was a real deal killer.
I fet that they could have said show up @ 9:30 and we will get you out first especially since I live in Everett Washington felt as though they really do not care if you have to stand around and wait which is the worst thing in golf it was hard to get into a god tempo when you have to wait, wait wait then hurry hurry hurry!!!!!
Plus they just punched the greens........
Terrific golf experience!
Between the friendliness of the staff and the condition of the course and the layout, you couldn't ask for a better golf experience no matter what your handicap.
Overall great experience.
This course enforces a 4:20 round or faster. When a group several groups ahead of us slowed down the pace of play, one of the course attendants was quickly out to have a word with them. Things moved along smoothly afterwards. Fairways are generally wide enough for marginally good shots but wayward ones will find deep rough. Greens are large and hold good shots. Putting wise they are plenty fast but hold the line well if you find it. Not many options on the menu though and it is mainly a microwave snack bar. Staff for all services were very friendly in keeping with small town USA. I would recommend this course to everyone and plan on playing it again when I come back through this area. Lots to do besides golf, if you like fishing, camping, hiking.
course was in great shape and the scenery is awesome.
Love the layout. It's challenging but fair. Played 18 holes in just under 3 hours.
Nice
Love the course, everything but the price is excellent.
Terrific design
Lying in the foothills of the mountains the course designer has encapsulated the surrounding beauty in every hole. On the 4th hole 6 deer passed about 20 feet away from the tee box as we were preparing to hit the ball. Greens are very challenging to read but still the experience was very enjoyable. The course was one of the main attractions for returning to the area for a weeks stay.
This was a great experience. My friends and I enjoyed our selves vary much. We will definitely make the trip and play at Running Y again soon.
My friends and I traveled about 70 miles to play 18 at Running Y. All of the staff were friendly and helpfull. We were not disappointed at all and will return to play there again.
Beautiful setting, layout and condition.
Can't really say anything bad about it. Wished I played a little better, but that is not the courses fault! It would have been nice if there was a beverage/snack cart. Played the Green Tee's. Probably the right tees for up to a 20 handicapper and can hit it your driver around 230. Ball really seemed to carry.
