The Running Y Ranch Golf Course
About
Running Y Resort sits just across the California border, surrounded by the beauty of the Cascade Mountains. The challenging golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer and has been ranked as one of the top 100 public courses in the country as well as one of Oregon's best. When asked to pick some of his favorite designs, Running Y made the list. The golf course takes advantage of all the beauty of southern Oregon, preserving the landscape with such care that is was certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The layout features Palmer's signature fairways that are both curvy and receptive. The front nine wraps around Klamath Lakes and plays through dense woodlands while the back nine crisscrosses through Payne Canyon. The final holes are also laced with Scottish-style mounding and a few water hazards.

Running Y
A great course in a county setting, each hole has its own personality, a must play.
Disappointing
The Golf Now should price to include a cart, impossible to walk in n a warm day@ 94 degrees. The time I signed up for had only 1 opening, anticipating I would be playing with others. I was sent out as a single. Openings were available to pair earlier. I was refused by golf shop staff.
Course conditions: greens were excellent. Fairways were spongy, lots of thatch. Green approaches were inconsistent; firm and others wet with ball pulling in the approach.
Golf cart gps was nice and accurate. USB port was appreciated. Sand bottles and ice cooler were empty. No tees in cart.
Rainy Day
Rained most the day but course held up phenomenally and proved its ability to drain well. Greens held true with very little areas of puddling. Definitely one of the best courses in southern Oregon! Will be back!
Fantastic track
Amazing course, very well maintained. The group in front of us was playing very slow. We called the pro shop to let them know. The pro shop was not helpful at all, which was a total bummer The check in staff is also an area where they seem to lack. The carts girls are very friendly and attentive. Will definitely play again.
Great day for golf at Running Y Resort
We started at 3:50. Course was in great shape. The rough was very rough on some wholes. Ball had good roll on fairways and greens were in excellent shape. I had 2 problems. We started so late that on the 16th, got a mosquito attack. Forgot repellent. It was so late in the day the 17 and 18 t boxes were playing directly into the low sun. Overall my wife and I very much enjoyed playing the course. Will come back.
Great place, but Golfnow people are second class citizens.
This course is really nice. Good shape and very playable. Awesome views. With that, I left with a sour taste in my mouth. We made the tee time thru Golf now for 12:30. Our plans changed, so we arrived an hour and fifteen early. Go check in and asked if we could get out earlier. There were openings on the tee sheet for the next half hour. We we told that because we made the tee time thru Golf now that the time couldn't be changed. ?? There were only two of us and for the next hour we sat there and watched two twosomes go out. Apparently because we were able to book a great rate, not through them, we got punished by management. If they don't want to deal with Golf now then don't have your course on their system. All said and done common sense has left the building.
Will be back!
Was well worth the hour and 30 minute drive. What a beautiful course and facility. Can’t wait to come back!
Awesome
Course was in great condition and the staff was very nice and accommodating.
