Linden Hall
About Linden Hall
Linden Hall touts itself as "one of Pennsylvania's best secrets". This 785-acre estate is home to a historic 74-room lodge and a 6,405-yard golf course that winds up and down the region's rolling hills. The 8,720-square-foot Linden Hall mansion contains 35 rooms, 27 fireplaces, 13 baths, an indoor bowling alley and walk-in clothes dryer. An Aeolian pipe organ, one of three in the world, could be heard throughout the first and third floors when played. Today, the mansion, dating to 1913, is used by the United Steel Workers of America. The Club Pub restaurant overlooking the 18th fairway, a heated outdoor pool and hiking/biking trails are available.Facts

Beautiful Course
This course may be off the beaten path and a little tough to get to but it is worth the drive. Beautiful, well maintained and very challenging course. The nice thing is you can score well and be challenged. When we played it was cart path only due to lots of rain throughout the week - it didn’t really take away from the experience. Greens are large and as you transition to the back 9 you get some gorgeous views.
Nice Layout
Course is wide open with a nice layout. Tough Par 3's on back nine. Course condition and layout has improved greatly in last 4-5 years. I'd recommend the course to anyone.
Great shape
Great condition. Well maintain course, greens in very good shape. It was cart path only today because of all the rain we have had lately and I respect that, keeps the course in good shape when it all dries out. I'll be back.
Remote Gem
The course was just on the other side of 'No Where' and we wondered if we may have made a mistake in choosing this course for play. The course was great and we had a wonderful time. The only negative we encountered were some little flying gnat like bugs that were everywhere. Also, the greens were much faster than what we are use to playing and we never really got adjusted to the speed of greens. All in all had a great afternoon.
Great course
Course is in great condition, greens are fast and receptive. Will definitely play again.
Excellent Condition
Haven't played this course in 2 years and was impressed with the conditions. Fairways were cut and lush and the greens were consistant and in great shape. There was no bar in the clubhouse so we had to walk across the parking lot for our 19th hole refreshments. Excellent value for the price and worth the drive.
Hidden Gem in Western PA
Linden Hall is off the beaten path. The course has been improved over the past 5 years and is one of the best public courses in Western PA. Use goggle maps and make it a destination this summer.
Enjoy playing here.
Greens, traps and fairways were in good shape. Rough had grass clumps all over from mowing but after four days of rain, hey, so does my yard. Oh, and the bugs weren't all that bad after getting away from the woods lined fairways.
Coarse is a challenge when it is windy.
Fairways, greens and rough were in excellent condition, but some of the gold tees were a bit beat up. Wind in my face for virtually all of the front nine holes made playing the course an even bigger challenge. This course is a good value and a pleasure to play even if cart path only when it is wet.
Rick’s golf at Linden Hall
Nice level course for western Pa. fast greens. So so layout. Good condition. Would come back.
Great Course
The course was in excellent condition and was not overly crowded. We were able to play at our own pace and wer never pushed or help up. The greens and fairways were in unbelievable condition. Definitely will play there again.
My favorite course
Only been playing golf for about a year and played Linden Hall for the first time in early June. I've been to 15 area courses so far including Totterridge, Madison , (only live a couple miles away), and Mystic Rock twice. While some others in the area are nice, my first choice to play is Linden Hall. Sure if I had the money I'd love to play Mystic or Shepherd's every week but since I don't, Linden Hall is about as close as you can get without selling organs. Very reasonably priced, good food, friendly staff from the Pro Shop, bar, starters, groundskeepers and the ladies in the snack shack. Great shape, amazing views, quiet, nice sand in bunkers that don't get washed out or turn into small lakes for 3 days after a rain, no holes I don't like. Only bad thing, and it's been mentioned in other reviews, is the gnats on some holes. Wish they had a driving range though.
Top rated course in the area
This course is one of the nicest golf courses in probably a fifty mile area, the course is in excellent condition, the surrounding are picturesque, the pace of play is usually very good, the fairways are soft & the greens are very lush & green, although tough to read & very challenging in all aspects, they are fair for all play levels, I have played this course about 6 times this year & it beats me every time just when u think u have it u either 3 put or hit a drive ob , a very challenging course, love it
Beautiful day; great golf
As usual, Linden Hall offered a very good golfing experience. The greens were fantastic; the fairways were cut tight; and the first cut was also cut properly to where we were not looking for a ball if it was just a few feet off of the fairway. Beautiful views of gods creation throughout the course!
Really nice course and amenities. I will play there again
