Linden Hall
About Linden Hall
Linden Hall touts itself as "one of Pennsylvania's best secrets". This 785-acre estate is home to a historic 74-room lodge and a 6,405-yard golf course that winds up and down the region's rolling hills. The 8,720-square-foot Linden Hall mansion contains 35 rooms, 27 fireplaces, 13 baths, an indoor bowling alley and walk-in clothes dryer. An Aeolian pipe organ, one of three in the world, could be heard throughout the first and third floors when played. Today, the mansion, dating to 1913, is used by the United Steel Workers of America. The Club Pub restaurant overlooking the 18th fairway, a heated outdoor pool and hiking/biking trails are available.Facts

Tough test of golf
Haven't played here in awhile because it wasnt worth it but it has really been transformed. The greens were imaculant smoothest we've played all year. Cleared out some trees on 16 beautiful sight there. Id say give it a shot well worth iy.
Great Course
Second time playing this course and it is great for the value. Love the wide teeboxes and the greens were like putting on glass, super smooth. Starter is not very friendly but the lady working the little shack with food was super nice. Would recommend this course to anyone.
enjoyable
enjoyed playing here for the first time. if you read other reviews, out in the sticks, which I don't mind at all, and lots of bugs/gnats. they get to you once in a while, but overall, will be back
long for seniors, greens little slow
Always enjoy playing this course except for the gnats that really bother you
Wet
Very wet even on sloped fairways. I know we’ve had a very wet first part of the year but no other course are this wet. May have a poor drainage problem. Other than that course was in good condition. Plays long. Greens were fast even after a short rain.
Upgrades
This course is challenging and they made a lot of upgrades to it. It was fun to play and will be back.
Overall good experience
The layout is entertaining, nothing gimmicky, and the course was well maintained, especially for this time of year. I recommend it.
Long Time Favorite
I have been playing this course for 25 years. Beautiful quiet rounds of golf and each hole has its own unique layout. The views, the hills, the mansion, all good. A few years ago I played, the ladies tees were mounds of dirt, the course was in the worst shape I had ever seen. FF to 2017 and it rivals some of the best courses in WPA. They took out thousands of trees to open the view and add in air movement which takes out the gnats. A view of the river on the back nine is breathtaking. Thank you Linden Hall for stepping up!
Worth the drive
Despite two days of rain, the course was in terrific shape. The fairways were cut low. The first kind of rough was not too deep. If you've been there before, you know that the course has a terrific lay out. The only drawback that day was that the greens had been aerated the previous week and we're still sandy, though they rolled pretty well despite this fact. Well worth the drive, indeed. If you like to walk, this is a great course for you as well.
Nice Layout
Linden Hall has a great layout. One of my favorite public layouts in Western, PA. No Parallel fairways. most holes are very open. I would recommend packing bug spray. Ladies at #10 refreshment stand were polite. #10 Stand Bathrooms were clean and updated.
Sooooo beautiful
Not from around here and the staff was nice enough to ask if I had played the course before and when I said no they were more than happy to help with everything I needed to know so the course it was extremely beautiful nice fairways if I lived here I would play this over and over
not what I expected
When we got there, they had closed the front nine. Going off on number 10, we found the rough unmanageable with long grass and weeds. Lost a ball there. Number 11, same story, lost two balls. lost one on number 12. They did not tell us they just sanded the greens and they were not puttable. Our balls were covered with sand. Because every one was going off on number 10, wer behind two foursomes and a threesome. slow pace of play. Didnot bother to repeat the second nine.
Buggy!
The course was in great shape as far as playing it goes. The major down side was there were so many bugs from hole 1 to 18. you couldn't swing with out bugs flying in your ears, into your eyes or just around you in general. Almost impossible to focus on a put around the green. Also bug spray did NOTHING to stop them.
It was enough to make us not want to go back to the course.
Fun Course to play
Wide open, Beautiful views on the back nine on top of the mountains. A lot of par fives but most of them are getable.
the greens, fairways and tee boxes were in spectacular shape.
Linden Hall is back
I used to play this course frequently but have not played it for many years after the couse condition seriously declined. Well I have to say the course is back and better than ever. Great conditions, greens are good and appear to have been re-done at some point. I always really liked the layout and nothing has changed there. My only complaints are the speed of the greens seemed very inconsistent front to back. Fast on the front nine, slow on the back. And, those pesky gnats are pretty distracting.
