Great Tough Course
Course was perfect although the guy in the clubhouse, I think his name was Luke, could be friendlier
Course was difficult!
I like tough courses so I had a great time chasing the little white ball around!
Fairways were very rough, was dry apparently and growing in sparcely,
Greens and tee boxes are very good. Fairways are not watered so there is no or brown dead grass on a very hard base. No drinking water on course and ball cleaners are rarely filled. Staff is great and works with what they get. The pace of play can be extremely slow on some days mostly because there are no starters and Golf Now bookings are for 4 players. Nobody is there to group the four players.
Better courses around
Burnt fairways, uncontrolled rough, unusual layout (not in a good way)
Greens were in excellent condition but doesn't make up for the other items. For the price, did not enjoy the course and wouldn't go back.
Food and staff were top notch.
Close to home
Someone is always up your back makes it a little hard to find tempo .
Always a senic experiance
Its not a PGA course but always a good time playing. The back 9 is a commute through nature and staff is friendly. Price is right and I always get my moneys worth LOL.. Plan on spending around 4 hours for18.
Playing grounds
Absolute trash lost tons of balls in the fair way due to the fact they don’t maintain it. They definitely lost my business rather play hidden valley any day of the week.
roughs
If you didn't hit fairway ball was lost due to length of rough
Needs mowed
Great course very hard tho
Stay in the fairway
The rough is unplayable and eats balls up never lost so many balls on ok shots just off the fairway
Nice course
Nice course but the roughs are too high. Easy to lose balls around the fairways in the rough.
Very nice course layout
Very nice course layout but can’t even find balls on the 1st cut of the fairways. Be ready to lose lots of balls around the fairways due to long grass.
We lost balls on every other hole. Gave up looo h for balls.
One player was 9 handicapper. The other 2 in the group were 16 handicappers. Each person lost about 6 balls. We could see the ball land but could not find it after it rolled off the fairways.
Otherwise it’s a really nice course. Wish it was in a better condition.
Will be Returning
First time playing Lykens Valley and it was an experience that I will be returning for. Course was well kept. A challenging yet fun place to play. Layout was easy to follow. Pro shop was well kept and easy to navigate and their restaurant was a nice touch at the turn.
Photo is hole #1, after playing I had a wonderful lunch on the porch, played 18 by myself and finished in less than 3 hrs, a foursome on 10 let me play thru, it was truly a lovely day on the golf course
