Great day
awesome day to enjoy a round of golf, my friend and i had a blast, staff was very cool in the pro shop and groundskeepers on the course, forgot my cellphone in the cart. thank you for helping me find my cellphone
Covid 19 golfing
Excellent course, hidden jewel in Pocono. Very friendly staff. Challenging and fun course
Interesting and challenging
This was my first time playing This course I enjoyed the course layout and found it challenging and enjoyable to play. We were a twosome and played in 3 hours. The course was in good shape but the greens were a little slow. Would definitely play again not sure the pace of play normally since it is a family resort area
Great Layout
In the hills of northeast Pennsylvania two golf courses sit adjacent to each other, Jack Frost and Split Rock. Jack Frost bills itself as the finest public golf course in Pennsylvania, I played Split Rock for $30, I didn’t play Jack Frost as their greens fees were $78. I don’t know for sure, but I have a tough time imagining that the best Public golf Course in PA is $48 better than Split Rock.
Split Rock is amazing . Massive changes in elevation, Result in spectacular views of the rolling Poconos. Four sets of tee boxes on every hole give players of every level a totally different experience on virtually every hole. Doglegs, uphill, downhill, blind shots, risk reward , short holes, tough holes, you name it this course has it all. Two complaints. On the back 9 three holes run along side a highway. And for walkers, it’s a hike from green to tee on a half dozen holes, that hike is par 5 in itself.
Great course, extremely challenging, most of all fun.
Had a great day at Split Rock
We thoroughly enjoyed playing here and especially during the challenge of Covid-19. The starter and staff were friendly and helpful. First time playing here, course is in great shape, we love the layout. I would call it challenging yet fair. For $40 with cart it was a great value, that may have been a promo price due to the current situation. Club amenities like restaurant and driving range were not available but the putting green and beverage cart were there. Nice locker rooms too.
Great Day in the Poconos
Tee-Time at 7:00AM. Little wet from previous two days of rain. Sun out, finished by 10:00AM. GREAT DAY
Split Rock
One of the top ten courses in PA and I have played 90 in state. Great layout
Great layout.
Great course. Traveled with a group and we all enjoyed playing. Two eagles on the front 9 made a memorable day.
Challenging of the mind
If you want a course that the layout is open and doesn't make you think. Then go there, if you want a course that makes you think from tee to green. Then this one is it! You have to play what is in front of you not what you don't see with the blind spots, doglegs. Your layups can be rewarded where going to it will hurt you . Enjoy this beautiful course.
beautiful views and great holes
i had read a review that the greens were aerated on sept 1, well, the greens are perfect now , all 18 greens were in great shape .
Mountain course
Tough mountain course. We knew they were aerating the greens, so they obviously played not so great, but the course itself was pretty beat up. I got a hot rate deal to play, but would not have been happy to play full price. Pretty location, many blind spots to hit from. Staff very friendly , and restaurant/bar upstairs nice and food good.
Split Rock
Very nice, but typical resort mountain course. Hidden danger, target golf, greens are made nice but inconsistent
Great course, better staff!
On vacation and decided to play here. From the start it almost felt like being welcomed at my own course. Advice was freely given, help was always ready, and staff are just friendly and approachable.
I almost had the entire course to myself, and dictated my own pace. There is so much beautiful scenery here that I was thankful not to rush.
The course guide was spot on. It plainly says what types of shots are rewarded, and where trouble hides. Whe. They say trouble, they mean it! The rough is ROUGH. Really challenged me to play course strategy golf instead of playing free and hoping for the best.
Fun mountain course
Tough track with a lot of blind shots, hidden hazards and tricky greens. Super fun layout requiring most of your bag. Wouldn’t want to qualify here but a great place for a match with your buddies. Firm, fast fairways and receptive greens, although a little slower than I prefer, the ball rolled true. Worth the $$, you won’t find these extreme elevation changes at many other courses.
