Tomahawk 6/18/22
Great scenic course with a fair amount of challenge! Greens are slowwww but they’ve had a lot of rain in the last week. Also in regards to the rain parts of the course are in rough shape from being saturated. The course has roped carts out of the area but playing from it is very tough. Play is a little slower depending on when you go.
I played the 9 holes with two great people
It was a fantastic day of Golf, I got to play 9 holes of golf with a couple from Williston, North Dakota. Golf Now is a great site for meeting new Golfers, we meet as Strangers and leave as friends. Thank You Golf Now
Great course
Awesome course. Played a little late in the season so the course was a little over grown but it was expected for October. Really awesome course in the Black Hills
A beautiful fall day to play!
We have always enjoyed playing this course. It is in great shape for this time of year (just like it usually is every time we had been there). The beautiful fall day made the course features stand out and fun to play.
Unique
Beautiful course, a must play for the uniqueness. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Will play again.
The Elk are Bugling!
In great shape. Greens aereated and sanded, but has to be done. Sand in the bunkers. Anything mowed has been cut on the longer side. Challenging layout.
The bulls are sounding off and the sound carries across the holes. Also we played it was ok for relief from the piles of poop bombs all over the fairways :)
Tomahawk Board and Manager 86 me.
This week my Golfnow tee time was cancelled by the manager. After my earlier reviews and some emails I was 86ed from Tomahawk Lake Country Club. Very sad how I've been treated. Still, nice course. I grew up there and was a greens keeper there in the 70's. It took a PGA manager to show me that that doesn't insure professionalism. If you look back at my reviews you will see that it all began with how the assistant in the Pro shop treated me when I used Golfnow.
I've been asked to not return
The last time I golfed Tomahawk I returned to find a child behind the bar. This may not be illegal but I find it inappropriate. The child was the granddaughter of the bartender. When I informed the manager he said he agreed but that since nothing illegal had happened he would do nothing. He said something that he has told me many times, that he was working long hours and he didn't have the energy to deal with me. ME! he said that because I complained about the same woman's attitude when she found I was using GolfNow to register for a few different tee times. You would have thought that I had stolen money from her pocket. I do think the course would be much better off if Bryan would retire and they found a new manager and if Gerri would be managed better. He now has asked me to not return to Tomahawk even though all I have done is report problems that I saw and that I hoped he would find staff that would help him with the long hours he was working,
Golf with Nature Bonus
I have been playing Tomahawk for 70 years and still enjoy the natural beauty and opportunity to view Rocky Mt. Elk, Whitetail Deer and many other wildlife species along with the challenge this course offers. If you ever come to Deadwood,SD play Tomahawk if you love nature and golf.
