The Baneberry Golf Course and Resort is set on Douglas Lake in the Smoky Mountains. Golfers can stay in one of seven private villas or a room at the inn, which is closest to the pool, tennis court and driving range and across the street from the clubhouse bar and grill. This course has some great holes.
Greens were in great shape. Fairways were also. Nice course for all levels of golfers.

Great Conditions
New carts with GPS on them. Fairways in best condition in recent years. Greens were slow, needed to be mowed down some. Overall, one of my favorite courses to play.
Interesting Layout
The design of the course adds much needed value to the experience as areas of the course were in need of repair. The course was in decent shape, but the bunkers were terrible. None had even an attempt at being fixed and raked, and I am thankful I did not have to play from any. The gps system in the cart was very helpful in playing the course. It is of particular importance on the back nine as there are many blind shots to target areas. I will probably play the course again.
BaneBerry for 14.00 !
We were in Knoxville for the morning and after our running was done 2 friends and I checked golfnow to see what was available, to our surprize we found BANEBERRY at 1130am for 9.00 plus fees ! for 18 holes with cart !! WHAT A DEAL ! The staff was friendlt, the course was greening up nicely and the greens were in very good shape ! Thank you golfnow and the staff at Baneberry for a very nice outing !
Decent shape for winter conditions
The course was in good shape for winter. Some of the cart paths need repair. The on cart GPS systems worked flawlessly and were a pleasant surprise.
Greens were very rough
The greens were in rough shape, but the rest was in ok condition for January
Want beat the views this time of year
The new owners are getting setteled in and things are already improving. The greens took a beating over the hot summer months, but there coming back. A good airing and top dressing for spring should have them in great shape.

Always enjoy playing at Baneberry but very disappointed at the condition of greens

Nice setting
Rolling terrain on a TVA lake with mountain views. Fairways in great shape; greens are a little worse for wear. Moderately difficult course well-suited to my limited ability.
Course Conditions
The greens were in very bad condition. Most greens were very shabby with large bald stops. The fairways were in good shape but the rough was very deep and a golf ball could hide where the only person to find it would be the guy on the mower.
An overall exceptional value without overcrowding
The course is always reasonably well kept.The staff is very helpful and pleasant.The only fault I can report is that their greens are not what they have been in the past.However there is new ownership in place so hopefully playing conditions will improve by next spring.
