Great round of golf!
My round of golf was great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The course overall is in pretty good shape. However many of the greens are terrible for a couse of this caliber. The back 9 was beautiful and challenging. Would definitely play again.
Course needs a grounds superintendent
It was a fine day for golf. Staff were friendly. We scoped it out the night before to make sure we knew where we were going. Signs said no personal coolers and we thought that was okay as we would buy our beer there. Upon check in we found out that they don't have coolers at all. Lucky for us I Had one in my vehicle so all was well. Heading out we discovered poor fairway conditions. The thatch from cutting was left in clumps. Some sort of tiny bugs were every where. As we walked they would fly and swarm around your face. The greens were a mess. Some had puddles from watering, some had crab grass growing up in the green. Greens were a hot mess. It is a challenging course. If you can keep your ball out of the creek you're doing well. We had fun as always.
Not Worth Playing
If you like horrible greens and tee boxes then this is the place for you. The greens need so much love, they don't fix divits. Your ball jumps when you putt. There are almost no tee boxes that are flat. The clubhouse snacks were candy chips and some drinks, nothing else. A snickers was $2. There were many areas with a lot grass clippings. if you are paying much more than $25 for 18 with a cart it's not worth it. We ask played Gatlinburg Municiple Golf Course and it was one of the nicest and challenging courses I've ever played. That course is worth the $45+ you will pay. The front nine reminded me of a junk course you pay $20 for in Ohio and the back nine was more challenging and scenic but with the same issues. This is supposed to be a Gary Player designed course. He would be ashamed.
Beautiful mountain scenery, billions of black gnats!
Course was in decent shape except for the greens but some of that was due to a lot the golfers not bending over to fix their ball marks.
Bent Creek Golf Course
The greens were in terrible shape but some of that is due to jerks not fixing their ball marks. Lots of couples playing who have no concept of pairing up to speed up pace of play.
BENT CREEK
The front was pretty easy and the back was pretty tough. The little black bugs where aggravating. The back is much shorter, but play much harder then the front.
Great course
Enjoyable round of golf, good course set up with great helpful staff. Great value for this style of course.
Challenging back nine.
Fun course front nine is a average nine back makes you use all of your game.
Great Scenery
The course was closet to Gatlinburg for where we were staying and for the price was great. The staff was incredibly polite. The greens were soft and s were the fairways due to all the rain recently and during the round. The pace of play was very slow due to a foursome in front of 4 pairs. Also the bugs were atrocious. Make sure to take a can of OFF!
Never so Disappointed
We have been coming to Bent Creek Golf Course for over 30 years. It has been a couple of years since we have been and the last time we were here I asked what was going on with less maintenance to the course. They informed me that new management had taken over and they were going to put money back in the course. Well that certainly did not happen. I have never seen so many bursted water lines with water running on the course as well as the greens. Fairways , tees were terrible and greens were not at all good. When I called in to get a tee time I asked about the quality of the course and the man lied and said that is was excellent. The cart paths are busted up so bad that I drove off of them as much as possible. This was my last visit to Bent Creek Golf Course. This was a huge dissapointment.
the course has small tight fairways
not a lot of grass in fairways weeds in the rough course wet around greens. bad swarms of gnats.
Renovation
The course really needs some work. They only had the distance marked on a couple of holes. Had some dead spots on some of the greens. The greens were a little hard. Not worth 55 dollars. The one good thing about it is I only payed 17 dollars using the golf now app.
Nice Greens. Not So Nice Fairways
Beautiful scenery. Wonderful hills and holes of varying difficulty. Used a good portion of my bag. Some holes require smart golf where others are just grip and rip.
Great course.
I was pleasantly surprised with this course. It had some interesting and unusual holes and an absolutely beautiful location. Except for the gnats I thoroughly enjoyed it. Look forward to another trip there.
best course through mountains
If looking for a great course through the mountains this is the one. The staff was excellent and friendly. Front nine stays wet, but greens we're in excellent condition as well as fairways. The back nine is breathtaking, my favorite course near gatlinburg. Want Miss this course anytime I'm up that way.
Has Nice Layout, BUT
Right out of the gate, upon arrival Pro Shop decides to charge a 16$ Rider fee. Which is on top of my already paid booking/Green Fee. This is totally absurd and they were nasty about it. I was a single and not paired, that seat was open anyway and she didn't get her own cart. Course itself was fun, but badly in need of Maintenance and NOT worthy of steep fee they charge. There was a sewage/dead animal smell that permeated the front 9. Back 9 totally different and #11 is totally unfair to anyone over a 2 HNCP. But otherwise enjoyable. There was a fungus on some greens and they were Bent Grass slow. Not sure I would return, maybe they only want a 1 time play, it sure seems like it. DO BRING PLENTY of balls, although you will probably find double what you lose, I did.
Nice weather saved us
This course has a good layout but everything this lots of work, from the pro shop to the fairways, to the greens.
Nice deal
The wife and I had a great time there, well worth the price
Better bring lots of balls
The course was challenging having never played there before. Holes were not that long but there were blind holes where we had no idea what to hit or where to hit. The score card did however give good advise about what to expect on each hole.
Can't wait to play again but probably months from now and expect to do much better. Lost lots of balls, my wife mostly, water everywhere. Great views of mountains around. With golf now we got a hot deal and only paid $40 total for both of us.
At the end of the round ask for discount on next round and you can play for $20 each.
Wonderful experience!!!
Short but challenging.
Read the notes on the scorecard. Many of the holes have drivable hazards. It is a players course if you take what the course will give you. Take plenty of balls if you don't heed my advice.
