Needs improvement
We arrived early to hit the range but were told after we paid that the range was closed for an event. The course wasn’t bad but the greens were in bad shape. Food was not good, they refunded my food because it was that bad. For $65 I would have gone elsewhere.
Extremely disappointed by the course
I was expecting, for $65, to be playing a course that had excellent fairways and tee boxes at least. The bunkers looked like they hadn't been raked and had not NEARLY enough sand. The greens had burn spots in them and when you putt your ball it was hopping all the time. I really was expecting to play an excellent course but instead was extremely disappointed and only played 9. I would've quit earlier but didnt want to walk back to the car with clubs in hand.
Greens need work
I like the course and aside from the greens the course was in good shape. The fairways even after a night rain were really exceptional not a bad lie all day. The greens are not in good shape many areas are rough and bare so anything outside 10 feet was an adventure. I would recommend this course if the greens were better but until then I cannot.
Great Cours and Hotel
Great place to start a golf trip in Dallas ! Hotel and location is great .
Slow greens
Greens were really slow and bumpy. Not very well maintained for the price you pay
They had a tournament so we started 40 minutes late then had to follow the tournament so play was very slow... otherwise it was great!!
Greens as of now, need a lot of work. A lot patchy brown spots making greens bumpy. .Sandtraps were not raked or being maintained. I have seen the course in better shape.
Greens are BAD.
Played this course for $46 on Golf Now. I had heard good reviews but they are going to have to redo every green on the course unless their greens keeper is a miracle worker. Rest of the course is challenging. Lots of places to get into trouble. I liked the course it was just disappointing to have such bad greens. All of them not just a few.
Hi there - We appreciate the review. You rated us 3 stars which means there is room to improve on your recent experience at The Golf Club at Champions Circle. Let us know, in the comments, how and where you would like to see changes from the course. Thanks for the feedback!
Pay attention to Advisory
Course going through airification and sanding, so terrible time to play...Greens are awful as they go through the process of re growing the turf. Tee boxes also hard as rock in many cases and hard to tee ball...One of our favorite courses in the past to play, suspect it will be a couple weeks before it in any shape to play. Heed Advisory and ask before booking...
Greens took away from good experience
Thought the layout was good with a good mix of difficulty of holes. Unfortunately, the greens were in bad condition with majority of them had very little grass on them.
What happened to the greens?
Staff friendly. Cart lady nice. Starter really wanted everyone to play the white tees..WAY too short...just over 5800 yards on the card but tees seemed to be moved up even more...hit driver twice and probably could have hit different Club but really wanted to at least hit my new driver....The greens were horrible...worst have played on around this North Texas area...punch marks still very, very noticeable. And many fairly bare areas on many, many greens...truly never had a putt without some type influence from the punch marks...our group even said no worse than 2 putts once on the greens....I even asked the starter if all the greens looked like the practice green near clubhouse...his answer was “not sure, I haven’t played on them in two months”.....not sure I believe that...but maybe it is true... bunkers looked like never trimmed on the edges..had sand which made it a little better...
Paid $40 for this round. Played another course this past Saturday for the same but it as a MUCH better golf experience. But I have played here before and don’t remember course conditioning this bad.
Just my opinion.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Do not waste your money
Currently on hole 3 and greens are choppy from aeration and no sand. Fairways half brown even with all the rain. Bunkers never been raked. Might quit after 9. Should be a $15 course not $50.
Bad greens
My wife and I have played this course several times in the past and every thing was in great condition. This time the greens had been recently punched. I don’t mind playing on punched greens, but these greens, looks like they never did a second top dressing. So many bare spots. It looked like it had been several days since they were mowed. Impossible to putt on. Bunkers were more mud than sand. I realize heavy rain can reek havoc on bunkers but there was very little sand in any of them. Last time we will play champions Circle Golf Club.
We love hearing from our golfers, but we apologize for your negative experience. We are happy that you took the time to leave us some feedback so we can improve in the future. We hope to have you back.
Terrible
I’ve played several Troon golf courses over the years and I can’t believe that they attach their reputation to this course. The course layout is challenging but the course is just in terrible shape. Many of the tee boxes are so hard that they can’t be penetrated with a tee...but they are actually nicer than the recently aereated greens. This course was once a gem in West DFW...but is now worse than most municipal courses. It’s important to note that they still have their premium pricing. The pace of play was horrible due to a total lack of a marshall...4:45 min mainly due to a group of 7 players about 3 holes ahead and a 6-some directly in front of us. The bottom line is that I’ve played my first and last round there.
Nice layout. Most fairways and rough areas were in great condition but the greens were atrocious. I truly felt like I was putting on the moon. Horrible craters that would make the ball roll inches in either and in directions or jump. Forget worrying about speed or line just keep the flag in and try to use it as a backboard because that’s your only chance. I literally took a divot on a 5 foot chip shot because there was so much sand in the craters. The greens reminded me of Sunset golf course in the early 90’s.
Disappointed
Was really looking forward to playing this course. Tee box’s were nice, fairways were good, greens in horrible shape. Did not see Cary girl at all on course.
Greens???
For whatever reason, the greens were in very poor condition. Disappointing because regular greens fees were charged. Tee boxes and fairways were generally fine but the greens ruined the overall experience. Normally a great course with a variety of challenges for every level of player.
Greens need some serious work
What would be an excellent golf course is undone by the horrendous greens. Fairways are great and the course has some very fun holes on it but paying anything over $30 to putt on these greens would feel like a scam. Hope to see the conditions improve because it truly is a great track.
Terrible greens
Greens were in terrible terrible condition. We were really bummed that we didn't know the conditions, prior to booking.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting The Golf Club at Champions Circle. We hope to see you again in the future.
