Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Watch for tournaments at course.
3-9hole courses. When i arrived. Was told i was playing same 9 twice due to tournament. I called ahead twice to confirm tee time. No disclosure of the tourney to me. I will say Joey from pro shop took care of me though. Thank You Joey. Next day played the other 9’s. Hot but enjoyable. Enjoyed my foursome!
Hard grounds
Course has a good layout and not a high grade of difficulty. Most difficult part is dealing with the very hard grounds, from fairways, to around the greens. Your clubs will bounce off the ground. Lots of chip-and-run instead of pitching. There seems to be plenty of water around, don’t know why grounds are not better.
Fun course
Great course a little challenging but I’m also not very good so there is that. Overall course was in great shape.
Play this course ASAP
What a treat to play, this course is spectacular The only downside to yesterday was getting there an hour early and being told that the driving range was closed. But the guy allowed me to get out early and I got paired with some very nice gentlemen. This is one of the best public golf courses I’ve ever played, and I can’t wait to play it again.
Good resort course experience
Nice layout. Course in decent shape. Greens only fair. Very grainy. Overall well run operation.
Poor value
Fairways and tee boxes are better at $70 SA courses
Great outing
Great course. Friendly staff. Really nice golf course
The club house is under construction so no comment. all else was great. wind was over 20 mph so high score. will try again. with better conditions.
Overpriced!
This course was one step up from a municipal course. The staff was friendly but for the price point, definitely not worth it. With some TLC from the grounds crew, this course could be a lot better, in my opinion.
Great Course - Give it a week
Overall this is fantastic course in the San Antonio area. Staff is very professional, course is in decent shape (more below) and costs this time around were amazing.
Course Conditions - We got to go off cart path finally, and I saw the ball hit and run for the first time in a while. The greens look like they just got some top dressing with some sand. Although there was noticeable sand, it did not impede the roll of the ball, you just needed to clean your ball each time you putted. The tee boxes were a bit fuzzy in some places, but overall in good shape.
This was my first time being able to use the range prior to teeing off because I was not being rushed off the boxes. The range balls are provided, but the size of the warm up bag is very very small.
The bar area is under renovation too, so off course amenities were limited. I did see the beverage cart more than once as well.
This was the first time playing the creeks; which is probably the most forgiving of the 3 nines. The creeks is wide open with some interesting dog legs, but they were generally very generous to a miss, and not overly penalizing.
I got paired with two beginners - no issues there. However after a few holes, I decided to play on my own and didn't see another group until hole 16 of 18 - I played 18 in about 2 hours and 45 minutes - and that is after playing the first 4 holes in about 45 minutes.
Good course, a bit pricey.
Course is a good layout, challenging to play for first time with a number of blind shots and lots of run outs to carry you into trouble. A bit overpriced vs similar courses. A number of holes have significant tree overhang that could use a good pruning. Greens were in great shape.
Great facility!
One of the nicest courses I’ve played anywhere! Thank you
Over priced
$130 dollar course, sandy greens, $15 dollar fire ball shots, $65 for two drinks from the cart girls and no hot food at all anywhere. San Antonio golf courses are extremely proud of their courses and should be ashamed of themselves for the price gouging they are doing. It’s really becoming a problem.
