About La Cantera Resort
Located just north of downtown San Antonio off the Highway 1604 loop is the La Cantera Resort, home to The Resort Course, designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf. It is a former host of the PGA Tour's Texas Open, featuring incredible elevation changes and sweeping views of San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country. La Cantera Resort features multiple dining areas and five pools. Just off property is Six Flags Fiesta Texas and The Shops at La Cantera. It is also near the University of Texas at San Antonio.Facts

Greens are always tricky. Dormant Bermuda fairways. Always love the course.

Best course in San Antonio
Spectacular day at La Cantera. The greens were fast but responsive to long wedges. Overall this was the best course I’ve played and with the golf now savings it was just over $100.

Greens were super slow!
The greens were super slow, it’s difficult to putt in those conditions.
Thank you for playing La Cantera and for taking the time to write a review. The greens were slower last week as we are now at winter height for the season. The warmer temperatures are causing the grass to grow which is abnormal for this time. We should see be better speeds as the grass goes into dormancy.
Nice course
Got a pretty good deal on GolfNow for this course. It has some good elevation and picturesque views. Greens were a bit slow but were in good shape. The course seemed a bit soaked which plugged the ball a lot but overall was very happy with the course. Would definitely recommend playing it if you are in the area.

Phenomenal course with beautiful views and a friendly staff. Awesome place to play around, and the Texas cheesesteak was a banger.

Great experience!
We had a great playing experience however, the Jade Tee boxes were quite noticeably not in same condition as other tee boxes. They were significantly deteriorated and not maintained. I realize fewer women probably play the course however, it’s disappointing. We pay same green fees.

Best golf course in San Antonio
I have played almost every course in San Antonio and this is by far my favorite one. If you have not played it yet do yourself a favor and make that tee time

After playing the Quarry and TPC San Antonio I’d have to say this is the best course out of all three in terms of course conditions, layout, and staff.

Great course, perfect conditions
As always, La Cantera is outstanding shape. Very good service, staff is friendly and plenty of on-course attention, marshalls keeping up the pace and beer cart running frequently. Highly recommended, if you find a Hot Deal, take it.

Slow play
This course lacks a marshal to encourage pace of play. Complete chaos resort golf. How they take your clubs at the beginning and the end is very inconvenient.
