Awesome Time
Excellent course and staff. Will come back very soon.
Pretty good overall
The course was in good shape. But the greens were extremely slow!
Poor service
The course was fine but don't get hotdogs on the way to the 5th hole. Girl served them completely cold, got attitude when asked for a sandwich instead , then screwed up the register keeping me from returning back to golf for 10 extra minutes.
beautiful long course
My first time playing here & the staff treat you like
Royalty.
had so much fun I can't wait to come back.
Great course
Conditions were great. Our starter, Bob, was great giving us lots of information and getting us off to a great start. Great views on the course and would recommend this to anyone.
La Cantera Resort Course
Great course. Used to hold the Texas Open, before the TPC San Antonio was built. Loads of elevation changes, no 2 holes feel the same. Riding is recommended as the tee boxes and greens are not close together. Bring plenty of balls and watch out for rattle snakes if you go in the woods searching for an errant shot....
Big Miss! Terrible Shape
Think the title says it all. Don't waste your time and money unless your a hacker. Greens are terrible conditions along with tee boxes. Pace of play to slow for my pleasure as well. Lower the price by 1/2 price and call it a muny course!
Very Challenging, greens have some issues with disease or browning
Overall great late afternoon round. The staff was their usual outstanding selves. Drop your bag, it's ready in your cart after you visit the pro shop. Starter comes and gets you when it's time to tee off. The greens were ok. There seems to be a disease or something causing browning but didnt affect play. Great price for twilight/late afternoon round.
beautiful course
very beautiful views and course layout was great. greens were slow and grainy though not up to par
Nice course
Very nice course when you get a great rate on golfnow.com. Watch out for the Bermuda greens, the grain really influences your putts. Just because you hit the greens in regulation does not guarantee par. No. 17 green has a few bad spots, but shouldn't create too many problems. Tough but very fair course if you use proper course management. Don't get too greedy, you will pay the price.
Beautiful course, great track
A very beautiful day spent on this course. Definitely try it out when you can find a good rate. Friendly staff, great greens & fairway. Definitely recommend it.
Beautiful Layout
I had been hearing how nice this course played as compared to their other course The Palmer so I decided to see for myself and was very pleased. The practice facilities are very nearby to the clubhouse so I didn't have to drive a quarter mile to hit on the range and the putting greens were well kept. The course itself was in pretty great condition overall. The fairways were actually very bouncy and forgiving while a majority of the greens looked nice as well. However on about 4 greens they had very bad sun marks which just meant that you had to put through a desert. The elevated tees on multiple holes was a lot of fun considering that its fairly rare around San Antonio to find tee boxes that they raise anymore than 20 feet above ground level. Overall it was a great experience on a new course.
Great time
Staff was awesome as well as the course. Greens could use a little work but still better than most! Can't wait to play again!
Course could be better
Caught a great price at $62 w/tax and course was in great shape. Had just rained a few days prior so was very alive and played well. Practice/warm up facilities are great even with the amount of traffic that was going through the course that day. Staff is alright but try to regulate too much. Had 3 marshals on the course all day to ensure you kept up pace but at the Palmer they just ask if you've played before and let play regulate it's self. Bunkers are the toughest part of the course but made it a very fun challenge. Would say that it's worth paying 70-85 bucks max not over 100 and especially not in the summer because the greens will turn into glass. Overall experience was good but price is far too high.
La Cantera Resort
The driving range was closed due to it being a little muddy. It seemed more like an excuse then an actual problem. They didn't want to be inconvenienced.
Course was in good shape for the most part. 17's green was pretty burnt out however. Overall it's a great corse but a little pricey IMO.
Great layout. Very enjoyable!
Course was in great shape. Great pace of play. Very enjoyable day.
Great Shape
Well, the 2 1/2" of rain put this classic hill country style track in great shape. A former Texas Open site. This track never disappoints. Great twilight specials after 2 right now.
Add to must play list
Fairways were like carpet, sand trap awesome white sand, greens in awesome shape, views from tee box awesome
LaCantera Golf Course Resort
Overall the golf course was really good the only problem was with the ranger when he asked us to pick it up and there was 1 person playing infront and 1 person playing behind our foursome. Not really ideal to play faster than 1 person but besides that the golf course was great.
Great course
Must play when in San Antonio. Golfers will not be disappointed.
