West of Austin in the Texas Hill Country is Lakeway Resort & Spa, located on the southern banks of Lake Travis. Well known for its spa and lake views, golfers will appreciate Lakeway Resort & Spa for its access to the local Clubs of Lakeway golf courses and the public Falconhead Golf Club. The AAA Four-Diamond resort features 168 guest rooms, several pools (include one adults-only and a swim-up bar) and numerous bars and restaurants. Friday golf
We got there with very few time to warmup.
Got paired up with 2 very nice guys who had already played the course and gave is few advice.
Tee box and fairways, pretty good conditions
Greens a little dry and bouncey, but for summer they were very well taken care of.
In general, very nice course and not too hard.

Pace of play
Started 10 min late and round still took 5 hr 10 min. Great condition tho. If you can get out there early before they manage to blow the pace up it’s awesome.

Every water jug was empty. That can’t be happening when it’s 103° outside.

Good course. Seemed to play longer than stated yardages ( blue tees) . Greens in good shape, as were fairways ( especially for a hot dry summer)

Nice course!
Played it twice course is scenic and fun to play. It’s a little tough and some greens need work but overall you won’t be disappointed. Staff is great!!
Expect to play a 4.5 hr round.

Terrible Day - 5+ hour round
Five hours and twenty minutes in 105 degrees with Rangers that tell you there is nothing they can do. WHAT? That is exactly you job, to make sure a 10:30 tee time does not have a 10 min wait on every hole.
Tee boxes were terrible, hard to find grass on many. Greens were good shape, fairways for the most part were good, but did have quite a few barren areas.
For $100 per round you would think they would take better care of the course and have Rangers that actually know the job description

@Falconhead Golf Club - My suggestions are to pay closer attention to where the tee markers are placed on the tees. Looked like they were hardly ever moved and if they were moved, only moved a few feet. Meant there were quite a few tee boxes that were torn up where the markers were, but the rest of the tee looked good. Also, pace of play was really slow. Would suggest marshalls do a better job of keeping groups within a hole of the group ahead. Those two things would have given it a 5 star review.
