The AAA Four-Diamond resort features 168 guest rooms, several pools (include one adults-only and a swim-up bar) and numerous bars and restaurants. Great Hill Country style golf course!
Course was challenging enough for more experienced golfers and easy enough for average golfers. The greens were in great shape, but tricky due to the hill side shape of some of them. Still, the greens were fun to navigate once you got a good feel for the speed. I will definitely return. The staff is super friendly and very accomodating.

Beautiful!
Although summer is here and temps are up, this course was in great condition! Greens fast but fair. Layout is beautiful and hole 8 is a gem!

Austin semi private gem
Pleasantly surprised after playing many of the municipal courses around town because Falconhead has a great course layout with some very interesting holes and even a little water. A decent chipping area with bunker and a full driving range is always a plus.

Sloooooow Sunday
We showed up for our twilight tee time at 5 pm and there were no less than 3 other groups on the tee in front of us. It took just about 3 hours to play our 9 holes just before sunset. The tee boxes were mostly dirt but the course was nice otherwise, strange that the tees wernt in better condition. I would love to come back on a less busy day. Staff was very friendly.

Nice but slow green
The greens are well maintained but slow to me.I played the course for the first time during my trip to Austin. Played with a few locals and they don’t seem to think those are slow. My feeling is it’s ~9.
Some good looking drives were penalized due to the terrain. When it happened more than once, I got annoyed a little. I appreciate fairness of courses.
Overall, the course is relatively well maintained.
After checking in 40 minutes were left. I purchased small bucket of balls but ended up not being able to use it. It took so long to deliver carts to the customers before me that there wasn’t enough time left for me to go to driving range which is far away and requires a cart riding.
Starter was very busy delivering carts to customers and sending out players to the 1st tee. Sprinkler heads popped up and wetting people waiting for their carts. Overall, the starting of a round looked hectic and unorganized.

Over priced for pace of play and amenities
I’ve played this course a few dozen times and this time was one of the worst. This is based on the quality of the tee boxes, pace of play, and access to water.
For $100 round on a Sunday, I found it frustrating that the tee boxes were sand traps and there where others that looked much more playable. We did tee off on time, but the round took five hours and ten minutes. Lastly, for $100 round and playing in 100 degree weather, the club did not do enough to keep golfers hydrated. There were 3 water coolers on the course and one was empty in the middle of the day. There was one cart girl that we saw twice. Both times I asked her for ice in the cooler and was told to get it at the clubhouse.
Some of this is picky, but if I’m paying $100 a round, I feel these pieces are table stakes. At lease put bottle water in the coolers of your on course water supply is low.

Falconhead
Greens were a little slow due to recent sanding. Also, there were a significant number of areas on tee boxes and fairway with little to no grass. Sand traps needed refilling but I appeared that they were in the process of adding sand to some of the traps. Finally, the price of $90 for a weekday mid-morning tee time was a little high for the course conditions. A fair weekday mid-morning price would have been in the $70 range.
